sports Center Olympos — Local services in Utrecht

Edited 14-10-2025. There was no solution to the problem below. And other university sportcentrums such as Nijmegen have a lot more options and are way more modern. Still Olympos seems the best choice in the Utrecht area for doing various sports while staying budget-friendly.

Today the aerial course has 6+ free spots because of other people begin sick/ on holiday etc. Online it is still full because people sign up for a whole period. I have a valid Olympas + there is practical plenty of space in the course + my skill level is good enough to join without special needs. But Olympos system does not allow me to sport. The reception is powerless, and teachers can do little or it is a hassle. Olympos should be about sports availability, while now there are spots left untaken with no other way to do that sport.

I ask Olympos to offer a flexible method for joining courses. If there is a valid Olympas, and the teachers agree that there is space & possibility to join, then it should be easy to join.

Small sports centre (both in surface and classes offered) compared to other universities without being cheaper to make up for that, but there's nothing important missing. Staff and trainers are friendly and helpful, and there's a decent variety of weekly classes to take on top of the long opening hours of the fitness space.

While the fitness space is relatively small, it only gets crowded at the absolute peak hours - in the morning and after dinner, there are usually only a couple of people, so there's no fight over the weights or machines during most of the day.

Most courses ask for a small but reasonable extra fee on top of the basic...

tja, hoe moet ik dit zeggen. Olympos, och... Olympos. wat was je mooi. Ik leerde je kennen als 16 jarige. Een basketbal toernooitje waar we met een pitcher bier van 3 liter in de zaal zaten. Wachten tot we eindelijk na 2 minuten gewisseld werden zodat we op de bank weer mochten genieten van zo'n heerlijke goudgele rakker . Tegenwoordig mogen we geen bier meer drinken in de zaal. Niet zo erg, of zoals sommigen zouden zeggen (tis Belgisch maar ik weet niet hoe je het schrijft) Allah. Maar nu is het echt te gek voor woorden. Er is op het terras, waar je al 1,5e meter uit elkaar zit, een streep gekomen. Een lijn! Een lijn waarop staat: (oke ik weet het niet meer precies, maar...) bier tot hier. dus vanaf die lijn mocht er geen bier meer gedronken worden. Ja ik snap het niet meer jongens. Eerst ben ik aan het basketballen met mijn team. Stonden nog net niet te tongen op het veld. Vervolgens gaan we naar buiten en dan moeten we anderhalve meter afstand houden, oke. en dan is er ineens een lijn, halverwege het terras, die zegt: ja man, je weet toch die corona ding toch? ja man, als je nu over deze lijn stapt, jij gaat dood toch. MAAR, als jij geen biertje drinkt, ja dan is goed toch?

Lang verhaal kort: Ik hou van oly, maar lieve universiteit en hogeschool en gemeente en alle andere hogescholen.. Sinds wanneer doen we maar wat de regeltjes zeggen en denken we niet...
