SPAR University UU — Local services in Utrecht

If someone pitched me the idea of building a university campus in a suburb outside the city, create a quasi-monopoly of food supply, and thus purposefully exploit the convenience, financial cluelessness, and group behavior of young students, I would flip them the moral bird. But that's exactly what the Science Park and its supermarket and restaurants are. A Scam Park. 10 minutes by bike you will find normal supermarkets. Too bad you can't spend a full day on campus with fellow students without losing a lot of money. Unis should be neutral (I’m not even asking for subsidized food like in other countries but at least not have airport prices) My unigroup usually splits up and leaves towards city center after lectures and do their own thing, especially because in the Science Park itself everything is too expensive. No wonder why HU has such a low uni ranking. Your greed is destroying our creativity, collaboration...

Spar just tried removing my review, so i'm rewriting it for better 'quality'.

The spar university on Utrecht Science park has a monopoly because the university has a contract with them that they are the only one in science park that are allowed to sell groceries.

The state does not acknowledge Utrecht Science park as a place that needs facilities. And the University can decide whether these are here or not. There are thousands of students living in USP and they need a way to get groceries for a fair price!

SPAR isn't a very cheap supermarket in the first place, but SPAR University has even worse prices, even for a SPAR.

This is no way to treat the students that are the first source of income for...

CHECK ALTIJD HET BONNETJE!

De prijzen op het bonnetje zijn vaak duurder dan die in de schappen staan. Soms wel tot 25%!!

Op die manier heb ik wel is 6€ op drie!! Produkten te veel betaald. Je bent drukt en merkt het achteraf, dan is het natuurlijk te laat.

Dat probleem al 2 jaar geleden aangetoond. "Zal niet meer gebeuren" was toen de antwoord. Inmiddels al +10x aan medewerker en manager doorgegeven. Enkele dagen geleden alweer aan de Kassa met verkeerde prijzen. Met de vraag het aan de manager door te geven, was de reactie van de medewerker "doe ik dan over 2 weeken als hij van z'n vakantie in Griekenland terug is". Een oplossing wilde hij ook niet aanbieden, dus dan maar zolang te veel afreken!?!? Hij zei dus wel dat hij het al heel vaak aan de manager had aangetoond??? Dus ze zijn bewust van het probleem maar doen er niks aan?

Er lijkt sinds jaaren absoluut niets te veranderen. Hier 2€ teveel op ijs daar 0,50€ op een broodje, 0,20€ op knoflook. Reken dit een keer uit op de hoeveelheid aan mensen die hier dagelijks komen. Zo ontstaat een ongelooflijke strooischaden, wil niet weeten hoeveel dit over het jaar gezien is.

En oplossing van deze SPAR is heelas niet in zicht.

Ontzettend jammer, het lijkt zommige medewerkers en de manager absoluut niet te intereseeren.

De prijzen in de SPAR zijn al duur, dan zouden de uitgeschreeven prijzen tenminsten moeten kloppen.

Is niet zo dat studenten het fincianceel al moelijk genoeg hebben.

Its a shame that they are doing this with poor students for some extra profit. This Spar is even more expensive than the Spar at Central station or at the airport?? Also, if you scan your products, some may be higher in price compared to their price tag in the store. Even after mentioning this to the manager and employees, they don't change it so...
