I have played this twice and enjoyed the experience and the tracking device is a great addition. But I turned up with 4 players in the weekend and to our disappointment the driving mats where normally a RUBBER TEE would be were mostly wrecked and some even had no tee grip in them. We had to climb down to the grass and get one. This driving range is a money making racket as it is designed with one thing in mind and that's for everyone to buy their long wooden tees, that cost from $7-$12 a box depending on quantity needed, That becomes clear as they are so poorly made they snap too easy and you go through a packet fast. Completely disagree with having to shell out for Tee's when already paid $25 for the experience. No other range does this. It s a racket. So all up it cost me $35 and because the tees are so long and if you club is low then I got told to snap the wooden tees. So 1st, I had to climb down to retrieve the tee holder for the range, then look for a part of the green that wasn't damaged, then had to spend half my time snapping all these this wooden tees and then because there is no shelter from the wind and the heads on the tees are so small, I spent ages trying to balance the ball on the tees and hit it before the wind blew it off. Really wrecked a fun day out and we all agreed not to come back until they get proper RUBBER ADJUSTING TEE"S like most ranges have. I got told they are in the process of recovering the patches of green with revolving patches but still are going to make people have to fork out for Tee's. This would have been my gotto range (only for the trackers) but obviously you pay for the privilege through the purchase of Tee's. We would rather spend our money at the closest Riccarton range. Shouldn't have to cost you extras when most people there are amateurs and will need Tee's. Just...
Read moreExpectations were high for a nice new driving range, something thats a bit more innovative than what we are used to. Nope thos is just another range. A small one. The star rating is a representation of of my expectation, experience and the down right lack of thought to a left handed golfer. Even cheap ranges cater for lefties. Sbc doesnt. Disappointing. Maybe one day we will get a range like they have in the states. Until then... Riccarton park...
Read moreBrilliant facility. Staff were very helpful and explained how the system worked. I went at around 10 on a Saturday and it was relatively quiet so plenty of bays to choose from. Tons of parking.
Putting green 18 is perfect to work on the dancefloor game. (BYO ball for this)
The only downside hitting from the covered bays is that there is no tee setup. If they were to install fixed rubber tee stands then it would be a 5...
