Oops, this is an old review that wasn't posted, but here it is anyway. For a big city, Christchurch stores have such a pitiful selection of goods. There's certainly very little choice. You either don't stock all the brands varieties or flavours, don't stock it at all, or worse, what you do stock is out. Tropical Raro. No lime. No raspberry. No lemonade. No blackcurrant. No idea!!! And to run out of a product? Seriously? In this day and age, with the technology used to track stock? Perhaps your stock re-order prompt numbers need re-visiting... And blaming the 'deadly pandemic' is just, well, old! Like I said, pitiful. PS. It's nothing personal. It's a Christchurch wide failing when it comes to lack of variety. But something that is yours to own. That bloody great big mountain we have to go over coming into the carpark?! Is that really necessary? Unfortunately the photo doesn't at all give an indication of the diverse levels. And just one more thing. Given the price of grocery items, you think you could swing for a few more lights in your carpark. Not user friendly when you've never been to the store prior, it's night time, no-one else is leaving, and you don't know where the heck to go to get outta there!!! If lights are out of your budget, how about a couple of cheap signs depicting...
Read moreI’ve been shopping here for years now and most of the staff are familiar faces but yesterday I was really taken back by the customer service. My husband and I bumped into my younger brother and his friend in the supermarket. We said hello then went separate ways to pay. The lady on the self serve wouldn’t let him buy alcohol because we were seen as all together. He’s 21 and we’re both 28. Because my hubby and I didn’t have our ids he couldn’t buy his drinks. The woman was just smiling and giggling at us while I was trying to get her to explain to me why us not having our id is anything to do with his purchase(not to mention we’re clearly well over 18). So a big fuss was made and she took away the drinks. Very embarrassing and very strange. We still don’t understand why as she didn’t bother to answer. I guess seeing a familiar face in the supermarket now means you’re shopping together? Not only have prices been so high here but the service is appalling. We will be shopping anywhere but countdown...
Read moreI went in tonight after finishing work, rushed in knowing I had about ten minutes before closing time. Needed essentials for the family, as I was coming down the cheese isle an older lady emplyee screams down the isle demanding me "to come to the front, we're closing!" In an accusing manner. Instead of coming up to me to inform me properly. At first I had no idea she was yelling at me. The stocker, whom I looked at for confirmation, then says "she's talking to you, telling you the store is closed" I then hear the same lady with the same volume and attitude continues to repeat herself two more times, at this point I'm beyond offended. I have never been screamed at like that before, I just wanted to drop everything and leave and say forget it. In the end I didn't finish my shopping, I just paid for what I had in my hands and left. Rude as rude gets people like that shouldn't be employed in customer service. Upset me a lot and quite frankly dont want to...
