Matatiki Hornby Centre - Library — Attraction in Christchurch

I enjoy popping into Hornby library on when I'm in the area. The building is I believe going to be replaced soon as the current bldg is a little small. But go in & you will find books 📚 galore, computers 💻 with a time limit you can use & staff who are fully dedicated to assisting you the customer in finding that elusive book 📖 that you really want for the holidays. 🏖 This dedication can be found in most libraries across New Zealand but because I live in Canterbury I happen to think our people are the best. Awesome new facility. Staff are friendly and helpful. The pools are great and well layed out making it easy for a parent supervising multiple children of various ages as you can take turns in each pool with all children, and simply move from one to the next keeping everyone happy 😁 (most of the time) Great sized changing rooms for families and plenty of lockers and pool side seating. Having the library on site is fantastic meaning this could be an all day visit. We cycled from Sockburn via Waterloo Road and so having the bike racks on site was great. First time visiting this new facility today and I was impressed. Very modern, good layout and more accessible than the previous location (for the library) in my opinion. I went to use the library but the pool looked good too from what I saw. There were plenty of staff on hand, which was sometimes an issue at the old library, and an ample amount of computers available for use.
