East India Takeaway — Local services in Howick

I have been regularly enjoying my Indian Takeaways from East India since they started. Am absolutely delighted to recommend this excellent takeaways to lovers of Indian food all over this part of Auckland. I have tried numerous dishes in their menu which includes both veg & non veg, fish chicken, lamb/ beef & my favourite prawns. I must say it is a genuine pleasure to have such a talented chef running this family oriented takeaways. They are very friendly, guide me to the best dishes, prepare everything fresh & their breads & rotis naans & stuffed parathas & kulchas are a real delight. It is rare to see such excellence in so many dishes. They are very efficient, accurate in their orders & very prompt in their time for preparation & get their orders out in very good time. They do uber/deliveries too. I enjoy their popadams & starters too. Highly recommend their chicken tikkas & bhaji & garlic tikka chicken. Their garlic naans are also very popular. Kadhai chich is also another top favorite. So difficult to say one particular dish. Hence i try & enjoy all their variety! Mall style curry, the prices reflect their quality, I go here regularly because of this, it's my go-to curry restaurant for price alone and i also like the staff because they are friendly, a heads up if you are sensitive to salt or sugar they add a bit much of each and you should ask them to adjust to your preference, their bread is far superior to their competitors more value for money and i have seen people order from here for the bread alone, I did find their bhaji to not be crunchy and crispy, it is more doughy and the batter is very thick and not at all like their competitors, also this is a takeaway only restaurant, you can sit outside if you wish but it's not that style...

Lived locally for 17 years and never tried this place. 1st time ordering tonight. I had the lamb vindaloo hot and have to say it was tremendous. Lamb as soft as I have tasted in any Indian establishment. The Vindaloo was on point. Wife had Butter Chicken medium and it was delicious. Mixed starter was huge, so will have some another day, but very nice. Naan breads also good. Best value you will find anywhere out East and I would say the Vindaloo probably the best I've tasted in Auckland. Definitely give this place a try,...
