Feedback on Yesterday’s Order:

Great food, but the call taker should've said they were closing.

I've been a regular at Curry To Go (2-3 times a month) and have always praised their food - the butter chicken is excellent, and I've recommended it to many people. Yesterday I phoned at 1:57 pm and said I'd pick up in 20 minutes. The call taker accepted the order but didn't mention that the shop closes at 2 pm. I have a screen snap of the call time to confirm this.

We arrived around 2:35-2:40 pm. We had trouble on the motorway. I can understand that staff might have been annoyed, but better communication at the start would have avoided the whole issue.

Instead, I was made to feel at fault when really the order shouldn't have been taken so close to closing time. The food is 5* star, but customer relations could be improved.

Clear communication matters just as much...

I ordered entree curries and rice with garlic naans and the curries had increased in price from $11 to $14. I asked to speak to the Manager being naturally shocked by a $3 increase in the space of one month. The Manager just told me the prices have been $14 for almost 3 years (noting I have been a customer for one year).

I still ordered the curries as they were previously delicious, however they had changed the plastic containers, in attempt to disguise smaller portions. The quality of the lamb Rogan Josh I ordered declined from previously aromatic and thick to watery and lacking in flavor. They did give an extra piece of garlic Naan though.

Very disappointed, as I really liked this restaurant, but sadly I won't be going back again due to the sharp price increase and reduced quality...

We moved back to NZ in December, and I have been trying my way through every Indian Restaurant in Wellington City. Every single curry I have had since returning has been average at best, until tonight.

Curry to Go just suprised me by recreating a dish authentically. Rather than feeding me tomato sauce with a small amount of chilli powder like every other restaurant I've ordered from so far, the dish was actually complex and the flavours were as they are supposed to be.

This is the best Indian restaurant I have visited so far in New Zealand.

I order the same dish at every restaurant we eat in / order from, and have done this for over a decade. Will definitely order again from...
