Goblin Games NZ — Local services in North Island

I'm so glad I found Goblin Games! It has an amazing selection of games that the other stores don't seem to stock. It is also priced fairly, closer to the likes of Cerberus or BeaDnD, so the value for money is great, especially knowing you're supporting a local business. It seems to have a vibrant TCG and DND community, but I'm pretty much there for board games.

One room for improvement is potentially if the staff asked if customers needed help after they've been there a while. I found they didn't really acknowledge us until we went up to pay. I usually don't mind, but figured it might be nice to also know you know we're there and that you're happy to help...

Goblin Gamers holds within it an absolutely fantastic atmosphere that leaves you feeling chilled, but also like you have just been on an adventure as you are driving away after a night of games and shenanigans. We came up to wellington for a holiday, but we were also looking for somewhere to play some mtg. So we popped into Goblin gamers and straight away the owner made us feel welcome and like we were already part of the crew. Went in on the first day it opened in Marsden Village. The vibes were friendly and inviting, and when I couldn’t find a type of dice I was looking for the dude behind the counter went to look out back for me because, it being its first day in a new location, naturally not everything was unpacked yet. He went out of way to help and said come back in a few days to check if they’ve been unpacked. I definitely will after such a nice first time experience!
