Oh so impressed with this set up! Gave me south island vibes. Such a cool idea and so glad it has happened as Ohakune has been needing a spot like this for so long. There is 6 stalls and all have enough privacy which is great and more privacy will come when the trees he has planted reach maturity. Love the fact that these are proper hot tubs also - heated by fire not just ya average spa model brought from harvery normal. 10/10 for originality and class. Overall so chuffed with this addition. I wouldnt recommend more that 4 people as we had 5 and was a bit of a squish.

We had a very relaxing hour soaking in one of the 5 hot tubs which are newly built so very clean and comfortable . Each tub has its own enclosed, garden compound so maximum privacy. The fresh, unchlorinated water is heated to around 40c and is replaced for each session. The temperature can be adjusted via a small wood burning heater. We were amazed at how relaxed we felt at the end and the soft smooth feeling of our skin. I loved that there were no chemical smells. We loved the peaceful location of the tubs. Would definitely do again. Thanks to helpful owner Braden

Did a last minute booking one rainy evening and loved every second. Beautiful tubs, very private, and heated with a wood-fire oven which means it also smells wonderful. We took some beer and mead from the local brewery and had a great time sitting in the rain. Would absolutely come again and would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing option on a cool evening!

We spent a long weekend in Ohakune and couldn’t believe our luck finding these fire-heated hot tubs while searching for hot pools in the cooler weather. The price was a little higher than we’d usually spend on ourselves, but absolutely worth it — a special treat you don’t get to do every day.

The space is private, clean, and very well maintained. Adding wood to the fire, the smell of it burning, the soft glow of the lights in the trees, the evening breeze, and the call of moreporks in the distance made it such a unique and relaxing experience. The host’s hospitality was excellent, we were even given water on arrival. Only small tip: softer shoes would make it perfect, as footsteps do carry.

All in all, a fantastic and memorable experience. We left feeling completely relaxed, muscles soothed. Highly recommend, and we’ll...

Firstly, the location of these baths are primo, if you happen to be staying at the lodge or apartments, it’s next door and otherwise a quick stroll from the inner village. The owner has to be one of the loveliest, most accomodating hosts out there with a wonderful, wholesome, kiwi approach. And lastly the wood fired spas are to die for, no disconcerting chemicals, they keep consistently warm and the audible crackle has a fantastic impact on your senses. This spot is a great new addition to the area and a MUST if you’ve come off a day up the slopes. Would be a crime to review as any less...
