Puhoi Kayaks, where to start?

The owners and their staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming to boot.

The experience was amazing from start to finish.

Safety gear + phone pouches were handed out (a great way to document your little trip without stopping phone overboard)

After a quick debrief of the route, everyone settled into their kayaks. First timers were given their instructions on how to use their paddles and once they were ready - off they went.

It was a nice, low effort kayak up from wenderholm beach, ending at their headquarters in Puhoi. The medium length kayak took roughly between 1h 20m - 1h 45m.

An excellent organization. I was with a group of Te Araroa walkers, we arrived here and everything was already prepared. We had a clear explanation of where to go in the river. Leaving our bags in the car and pick them up at the end is amazing. No worries about getting your stuff wet.

The staff is vers welcoming too!! I had forgotten something important in my life jacket and they took the time to search for it and drive all the way to the end of the river to give it back.

I definitively recommand this adress for everyone wanting to kayak this...

This is a late review but we did the kayak in January for my 30th and it was the best day ever!!! It seemed super busy to start with (sold out) but once you’re out on the river, you wouldn’t know and it’s such a magical experience. When the crew found out it was my birthday, they were so special, we even got a beer after to celebrate! And I left my shoes in the kayak which they kindly bought back. The day was the 10/10!
