Hidden Gem for Stargazing - Cowans Hill!

Cowans Hill at Lake Tekapo is a true hidden gem! We discovered this spot during the day, scoping out the area for our nighttime stargazing adventure.

Returning at 10 pm for stargazing was magical. The whole place to ourselves under the starry sky was breathtaking. However, it got a bit spooky in the pitch-black darkness with no one around.

While the isolation added to the mystique, we hope more people discover this gem, especially at night. It's an amazing spot for stargazing, but a few more friendly faces would make the experience even better. Highly recommend Cowans Hill for a unique...

It's a nice walk that takes you up the hills behind town. Some nice views of the lake!

Unfortunately, it looses a star as this is the spot where I was swooped and attacked by an Australian Magpie... This experience traumatised me as the bird swooped me down three times. I now have PTSD... don't let this deter you from the walk, just be ready to...
