I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a horse trail activity with Moke Lake Horse Trails, and it was absolutely exceptional. Anna, who runs the operation, has created a business that is professional, efficient, and a joy to experience. Her dedication to her horses is evident in how incredibly well they are cared for, which is something I deeply appreciate when engaging with any animal-related business.

The trail itself offered spectacular views that were truly breathtaking, and every detail of the experience was thoughtfully planned. The picnic was a standout—elegantly set up with no corners cut. From sparkling water from a high-end brand to the impeccable choice of wine, aged to perfection, everything exceeded my expectations. The wine, in particular, was an unexpected and delightful highlight that added a touch of sophistication to the outing.

Quite disappointed in my experience with this business. It began fine but the trail guide decided that she wanted to weigh my partner even though we had provided a weight on his form. She pulled a scale and weighed him and determined 5 minutes before the trail was booked that we exceeded the limit. She would not allow him to go on the trail ride. There was no way for us to have known his weight as we are on vacation and are not carrying a scale with us…… she never weighed me either. There was no other option for him provided even though there was a Clydesdale in the paddock behind us which could carry him more than okay. I was given the option to leave him behind for an hour and a half in the middle of nowhere of which he does not know the area and told that he could “walk around” and I declined as of course this was our vacation and it was supposed to be a ride together. I wanted a refund as the rug was pulled from under us as he was only 15 pound over the limit and we paid 280 altogether and were not provided a service. There is a lack of communication as you call and no one picks up and email...

We had an enjoyable ride through the valley with some fun river crossings, and the scenery was beautiful. However, I was disappointed with the communication and booking process. I had booked an intermediate-advanced ride, as both my partner and I are experienced riders. Prior to the day, I received an email saying that beginners had joined our group ride and that a private ride was recommended due to our experience level. The private option was significantly more expensive, so I declined.

Upon riding, we were told that no beginners are actually allowed to join this particular ride, and it ended up being just the two of us anyway. It felt like an unnecessary upsell attempt, which was frustrating given the already high cost of the experience. A bit more transparency and consistency would have made this a much better...
