My favourite spot to stay when I travel late between Dunedin and Christchurch.
For $60 you get a full cabin for yourself with linen and towels (or $50 without those), free hot showers (please limit to 6 minutes max), communal kitchen - all the standard package of a holiday park.
Sound insulation in cabins not very good and curtains are not black out (my sleep is quite sensitive) but it's just a holiday park, can't ask for too much for this price tag.
Best of all, there's always a vacancy even at peak season. Perhaps because bookings can be done only by phone or email or in person so many unwitty tourists don't even know it exists? Anyway I hope it...

Itโs an incredible affordable family spot which has so many things large grounds great for biking or walking, playground, mini golf, pool and backs onto river. They even put on activities during holiday periods. The managers and staff are welcoming and kind, they happily accommodated request to change to a cabin after a few days of camping. ย ย ย Read moreCame with children and there was really nothing the kids could really do to entertain but themself as it say mini golf and the outside heated pool they both were out of service when we arrived which we travelled from afar and it did not mention on the site. The only thing was the playground but that was out of parent view from the camp site which had to walk away from the camp site to get to it.
