Here for the first time.
Service - Visited during non-peak hour.no doubt is awesome. Staff is patient to answer my questions on the menu and follow up to see if i'm satisfied with my orders.
Menu - words, no photos. i had to depend on google reviews for suggestion. Turns out not many review mention any specific dishes. Other than roast lamb.
Food - was deciding between lamb and mushroom. I chose to order the mushroom korma as my main, the salad that comes with it is delicious and refreshing, i finished them quickly. However, the main mushrooms itself isn't very satisfying, i didn't manage to finish them even though i love mushroom. It's also a little too oily for me. It comes with a fried onion fritter, but it was soggy; not crispy. If i were to visit again i would go for some other dishes.
Price - for the main mushroom dish i ordered. I would feel it's overprice...
Read moreWe celebrated my fathers 80th Birthday at Austins. We were blown away by how amazing the staff were. They went out of their way to make sure that everything was perfect. As a restaurant you are so lucky to have staff that really care about their customers and they have left us with a great impression of the restaurant. We are from out of town and I can honestly say we haven't had service like this anywhere else. The venue was just the right size for our group of people. We had an indoor and an outdoor area for our function. The food was really good with a great selection to suit all tastes. Thank you to the staff at Austins for making my Fathers 80th Birthday really special. As we left my sister from Australia said "To be honest they could have served us anything and we wouldn't have complained because the overall experience...
Read moreMy first visit to Austin's 92 in Temuka. Had the vege curry (coconut style), came with a side salad and I would say it was one of the best I have had. There wasn't anything to complain about, balanced flavours, nice portion etc. A few of the others had the roast lamb and they looked stunning. My folks said the lamb was so tender and everyone loved the parsnip crisps as well. I also tried some of the beer battered orange roughy, beautifully cooked, crunchy light batter. Finished off with an affogato, yum yum yum. Best I've ever had too. The service was warm and friendly, all round a fantastic place for quality food in a relaxed atmosphere. Thanks to the whole team for a wonderful time - you made our visit there...
