Waivino Tours was fantastic! I had looked into a few Waiheke Island wine tour companies for a fun day out for myself and a group of friends. I reached out to Waivino Tours and Grant got back to me promptly, answering all the questions I had. Grant was relatable, helpful, knowledgeable and fully catered for our non- drinking friend as well as our GF DF intolerant friend when it came to lunch suggestions. He took us to wineries "off the beaten track" which were incredibly interesting. Nothing was ever an issue.

If you want a fun, laid back approach (but still super professional!) with someone who is a local and knows everything there is to know about Waiheke and its vineyards I would suggest using Grant at Waivino.

Started with enthusiasm and banter despite cleaning the van upon pickup. Drove too fast around corners. Whilst Grant’s island knowledge was good, expressed through stories, we found his demeanour to change abruptly at times, which confused the vibe. We also didn’t appreciate him blaming our friend for his mistakes. We were also told in no uncertain terms that we couldn’t quickly visit another place - quite contradictory to what the Wai Vino website states (about flexibility). Our lunch was also interrupted in a rude manner and the blame placed on us! As much as we tried to remain relaxed and positive, this experience left a bad taste. We are a group of 45+ professionals who are well travelled and wine collectors. Thank goodness we discovered some good wines to lift...

Thanks, Grant, for the outstanding boutique winery tour! I’ve been on a few winery tours before, but this one was truly unique—and I absolutely loved it. What made it so special was that Grant took us to actual boutique wineries where the grapes are handpicked, each of them has so different style and some even produce organic wines, which I really enjoyed.

I brought two of my relatives from overseas, and they were sooo amazed—not just by the wineries, but also by the chance to enjoy the stunning Waiheke beaches and the beautiful 40-minute ferry ride.
