Dive Resort Seychelles – A Truly Memorable Experience

From start to finish, our experience with Dive Resort Seychelles was faultless. The team is fantastic, the equipment is top-notch, and the whole operation feels highly professional.

We were collected directly from our hotel by Jonathan Richards, who immediately put both my wife and me at ease. That made a huge difference, especially as my wife - despite having plenty of dives under her belt - is a naturally nervous diver. Jonathan went out of his way to make sure she felt comfortable. He arranged for her to be the last to leave the boat, stayed close by and guided her descent with complete reassurance. Honestly, I’d give 10/10 just for that level of care alone.

Our first dive site was “Alice in Wonderland” and it couldn’t have been more magical. Before we’d even descended, we were greeted by the breathtaking sight of a whale shark. To swim alongside such an extraordinary creature was a once-in-a-lifetime experience - one we’ll never forget. And the magic didn’t stop there. Over the course of our dive we encountered a pod of dolphins, graceful hawksbill turtles, an elegant reef manta ray gliding past and countless species of the most colourful tropical fish.

The second dive at “One Tree Island” was just as memorable. Vast shoals of vibrant fish surrounded us and we were lucky enough to encounter both an octopus and a striking moray eel, making it an incredible underwater experience in its own right.

The team, equipment and professionalism at Dive Resort Seychelles are outstanding. Everything runs smoothly and you always feel safe and looked after. This was one of the best dive experiences we’ve ever had and I can’t recommend them...

I have dived in many countries and in different locations in Seychelles (Beau Vallon and Praslin) before this one and this has been the worst diving center I have seen so far. I dived with the Dutch owner and he was really unpleasant and impatient. If a diver needed more time to go down, he would just say to the diver to go back to the boat, I have never seen this before. If he takes the responsibility of a group, he should adapt to the level and speed of the group. If he is not willing to do that he should just go diving on its own. This is clearly not professional and not the behaviour expected of a 5 stars Padi center.

Regarding the equipment, I second the comment of Daniel Szabo, the octopus were leaking, which does not give confidence in the material.

Tldr; Do yourself a favor: avoid the unpleasant and impatient Dutch man and...

Einfach ein riesen DANKE an die gesamte Crew. Jonathan als Divemaster war jederzeit über WhatsApp erreichbar. So war es auch kein Problem die mittlerweile etwas versteckte Basis am SurfHouse unter dem Kempinski zu entdecken. Im Office Mama-Sophie die immer fröhlich mit der Sonne um die Wette strahlt und zwischen den Dives Getränke und Snacks vorbereitet. Nicolas bester Skipper der die Southern Wind mit maximalem Komfort durch die Wellen steuert. Grandi ein Meister Taucher der jedem seine Ängste nehmen kann und entspannte Tauchgänge leitet. Das gesamte Team einfach toll. Hier lebt man das Tauchen mit jedem Atemzug.

Basis absolut ausreichend ausgestattet. Sicherheitskoffer natürlich am Boot und auf der Basis. Leihausrüstung durchwegs ScubaPro und einwandfrei in Schuss. Die Breefings vor den Spots nicht sinnlos lange aber mit allem notwendigen Versehen. Als erfahrener Taucher wurde ich auch so wahrgenommen und entsprechend wurden Buddy Teams eingeteilt sodass wirklich jeder auf seine Kosten kam und die Sicherheit gewährleistet war. Man legt großen Wert auf Deko-Zeiten und -Stopps, was gut so ist.

Wie sich hier einige darüber aufregen können, dass man sein Equipment selbst ganze 50 Meter selbst zum Boot tragen muss erschließt sich mir nicht. Wir sprechen hier von TauchSPORT und nicht davon sich bedienen, füttern, pudern und was weiß ich alles zu lassen. Die Leute dort sind tolle Dive-Guides und nicht eure Diener! Sowas Wöre mir peinlich. Beim Anziegen am Boot wurde man bei rockiger See immer unterstützt. Wer ein Brevet hat und nicht fähig ist selbst einen Bodycheck durchzuführen sollte sich auch überlegen ob er nochmal einen Kurs belegt. Auch brauch - jedenfalls ich - keine Marmorplatten an der Base sondern Herzlichkeit und Professionalität. Die unterdurchschnittlichen Bewertungen hier versteh ich nicht. Das hat nichts mit Tauchen zu tun was hier angesprochen wurde.

Die Spots sind professionell ausgewählt. Leider haben die Seychellen wohl sehr in ihrem Bewuchs gelitten. Ich wurde für die fehlenden Korallen mit grandiosen Felsmassiven, allen Fischen die man sich wünscht, Haien, Schildkröten, Lobstern und einfach nur einer tollen Zeit entschädigt. Ich kann es nicht erwarten wieder mit der SouthWind in See zu stechen. Bitte bleibt alle wie Ihr seid - Ihr seid toll 🤙🏻 DANKE DANKE DANKE für die tolle...
