Very bad experience at Kidztopia. It has been more than two weeks since the incident, but I am still shaken. Although it wasn't my child who got hurt, as a mother, my heart aches for the injured child. This incident has left a psychological impact on my child and exposed significant safety hazards at the playground.
On the afternoon of July 20th, around 2 PM, my husband took our maid and child to play at Kiztopia in Jewel. While I was on my way to work, I received a frantic call from my husband. He told me that our daughter had accidentally injured a two-year-old boy at Kiztopia, causing his head to bleed profusely. Our daughter is six years old. After reviewing the CCTV footage and listening to our maid's account, we discovered that our daughter and another child were playing by sliding a toy down a slide-like structure, which then bounced off something and hit the boy playing below. When my husband sent me a photo of the toy, I broke into a cold sweat; it was a large, hard model of teeth.
I was extremely shocked to find such a dangerous toy in a children's playground. Later, I learned that this toy did not belong in the area where my daughter and the other boy were playing. They were throwing it around without realizing the potential danger, and it was not intentional.
Since the incident, we have been in contact with the injured child's father and have compensated them. We also received a call from the Changi Airport Police, who conducted an on-site investigation, reviewed the CCTV footage, and agreed that such a dangerous toy should not be present in a playground for young children.
My husband has been communicating with the management of Kiztopia Jewel, expressing that this incident should not have happened and that there are significant safety hazards with their toys. He believes they should take some responsibility (for compensating the injured child). After more than two weeks of negotiation and waiting, Kiztopia's management still believes they are not at fault and refuse to take any responsibility. They even accused us of being unreasonable and offered multiple free admission tickets as a resolution, which my husband firmly rejected.
Additionally, the Kiztopia manager claimed that the incident occurred because our child was not being supervised. It is worth mentioning that the playground's age limit is from 12 months to 12 years. Parents know that children of certain ages run around, making it difficult for guardians to follow them at all times during play. Therefore, shouldn't the playground toys be made of suitable materials to ensure children's safety? This is an issue that management needs to consider deeply.
The main purpose of my post is to emphasize that incidents involving children in playgrounds should be taken seriously by everyone, especially the playground management. They have the responsibility to ensure the safety of the environment and toys, rather than shirking responsibility! The management's indifferent attitude towards handling this incident and ignoring our request to speak with higher authorities is...
Read moreA delightful experience for the kids. The theme was creatively done, with detailed decorations that made the space feel like a mini airport. There was a fantastic range of activities, from engaging pretend play areas where kids could explore being pilots or passengers, to more physically challenging sections like a ninja warrior course and a spacious ball pit. The variety kept the children entertained for hours.
The cleanliness of the facility stood out—it was spotless, and the equipment was well-maintained. However, we were slightly disappointed to learn that the air conditioning was out of service during our visit. The staff was upfront about this at the entrance, which we appreciated, and they had set up portable air conditioning units throughout the playground. Since we visited on a weekday, the crowd was minimal, which made the situation manageable and didn't detract too much from the experience.
Overall, the playground is a fantastic spot for kids to let loose and have fun. The minor inconvenience with the air conditioning was handled well, and it didn't overshadow the fun we had. It's smaller than marina square but not as small as punggol. If your kids are bored at jewel it's definitely a...
Read moreWe visited 3x since they opened..
We are very impressed with all e staff in this branch compare to Woodleigh as we can see there’s always smile on each of them which we feel so welcomed especially if you asked them any questions they are always very patient in listening..
Not only once, but throughout our 3 visits they never failed to show us their positive working attitude and they are also so helpful. During my 2nd visit - I was handling my two young toddlers alone while my eldest wanting to go to toilet urgently and my youngest refused to leave for toilet break and I left with no choice to reach out to one of their staff to help me look after him while we ran to toilet (which I believed other indoor playground staff will ignore such request)..
Just earlier today, one of e staff overheard I was telling my eldest that I have no strength to carry her up for one of e game (that arms swing slide), she walked to us voluntarily and helped me to carry my 20KG girl which I really didn’t expected..
With so many good experiences with them, I fully recommend this branch at Jewel especially Ms Nash, she’s definitely one of e best counter customers service staff I ever met!
Keep up e good work...
