Literally the most beautiful, amazing nature I have seen in my life!! (I love moss, beach trees, mountain streams, and wet greenery and this place had it all, in May, with barely any people.)
There's a parking lot down the bottom (3€/hr) or you can drive into the reserve for 15€ for the day. (The latter may work for people who don't want to walk as far in the second part, above the gorge... but you can only park above the gorge and further up.)
15 minutes after walking up from the bottom car park, you need to pay 3€ per person CASH as well. This is the start of the gorge. Then you can walk each side of the gorge (eg. Up on the right, and down on left side, which is my recommendation.) Both have unmissable views so be sure to cover both sides of the gorge!! Make sure you go at least to the second bridge !! (that goes from one side to the othe) That whole gorge circuit would take about 1.5 hours.
We went after rain and the little streams coming down to the gorge were the highlight for me, so don't let rain put you off.
But I recommend going up another 15 minutes to the first restaurant for a wonderful, well priced lunch. If it's not too busy, sit on the balcony looking up the mountain valley. Gorgeous lunch or drink spots!! (And great, clean toilets).
Next part is optional. The walk changes and becomes pretty flat. It goes up a wide mountain valley on a smooth, fine rock road to the waterfall which is nice. But you don't see the river as much. Do this if you love to hike, but for me the gorge is the best part.
Time needed: Gorge (minimum recommended) circuit up to second bridge crossing above gorge...1.5-2hrs total
Plus restaurant with view... +30minutes walking +eat/drink time. =3-3.5hrs total
Plus optional hike to waterfall (near second restaurant)... +1hr. = 4hrs (or 5hrs if...

We started our hike at around 10:30 AM from the Stara Fužina parking lot (very convenient parking) and followed the Stara Fužina road while observing the majestic Triglav right in front of us. We got a bit lost as we wanted to walk along the gorge and not an asphalt road, therefore we turned onto the first forest path leading downhill. We followed a little stream that carved into the rocks and created some fantastic photo opportunities. We enjoyed ourselves very much, little did we know that this was not the main gorge!
Mostnica Gorge was obviously amazing, much bigger than the one we just visited. Unfortunately due to time constraints we did not make it to the main waterfall, however even downstream, close to the Stara Fužina city, there were some spectacular rock features, aquamarine water and stunning places to just sit and relax! The path we walked on was rocky and full of roots, however nothing unexpected nor dangerous.
As we walked back to the city, we passed by the entrance booth where you have to pay an entrance fee. We did enter the gorge from the side (unofficially I believe), therefore we did not pay anything (not that we wanted to avoid paying anything).
It took us nearly 3 hours to get back as we really enjoyed ourselves and took a lot of photos.
100% recommend visiting this beautiful gorge! Visited...

Important Tip: Make sure to have cash money on you! At one point along the trail through the gorge, you'll need to pay an entrance fee of €4, and this can only be paid with cash. Don't get caught out – ensure you have small bills or coins, or you'll have to backtrack to an ATM!
We parked near Lake Bohinj and started walking towards Stara Fužina. Along the path, you'll find signs directing you towards the gorge. While there is also a parking area closer to the gorge itself, we enjoyed the pleasant walk up through the local streets – the choice is yours!
The gorge hike takes you through a beautiful forest, alongside the stunning gorge with its small rapids, all the way up to a charming waterfall. At a few points, the climb can be a little challenging, but overall, we would rate the hike as moderate. The views along the path are absolutely breathtaking, and we were fortunate to find there weren't many other visitors during our visit – just perfect for enjoying nature's tranquility.
We enjoyed this hike immensely and highly recommend it for anyone...
