We, as a group of 4 not very experienced but very enthusiastic people, went rafting and canyoning with Jakob. We recommend these experiences for anyone staying in the area. Jakob is easy to contact (mail or sms) and gives you enough information and options to fit with your travel plans. You drive to a meeting point, where you get all your (professional and clean) gear suited for your height/weight. Then you get in a van to drive to a starting point for rafting or canyoning. The Soca river is very beautiful for rafting and the Susec canyoning is challenging but not too hard if it's your first time. Rafting: we were with 6 people on the boat and not overcrowded (like some of the other companies we saw, not too wild or hard, nice scenery, you make stops with the option to jump/swim. Canyoning: know that there's a challenging walk uphill (0,5h) before the rafting (Jakob makes stops to make sure everybody is okay), canyoning was definitely a bigger challenge than rafting for us, but an amazing experience. We loved that it was just a little outside our comfort zone to make awesome memories! The one minor downside is that our canyoning group was a little too big, so Jakob couldn't be everywhere at the same time. A plus was that Jakob went overtime but didn't hurry us and ensured us we could do it at our tempo. Price-quality very fair, with a personal touch and as cherry on top the nice Go Pro videos from both activities for...
Read moreA few days ago me and my little brother went Canyoning together. We didn't have any previous experience but were kind of confident we would be able to do one of the harder canyons. We called them and discussed which of the canyons would be best suited for us, Jakob assured us that even by taking the 'easiest' canyon (the susec one) he would be able to add some stuff to make it harder and more interesting for us. Eventually we went with the susec canyon and the experience was amazing. while it was a canyon that other, smaller, children also completed, Jakob allowed us to go down some of the larger slides multiple times and gave us some more freedom to do what we wanted, while still keeping everything safe. In the end it was a really fun experience and we didn't feel like it was too easy, despite there being a 6 years old in our group who also completed it without complaining 😂
All in all I think Jakob was the best tour guide we could've possibly gotten, he saw what we were capable of and gave us freedom to do things without being some overprotective controlfreak, while still keeping everything and...
Read moreJakob, our tour leader is a very friendly guy. He answered all e-mails in a short time, we could arrange our trip in a very flexible way. We met at his home, did the necessary preparations, selecting the right neopren suits and shoes, jumped into the car and headed towards the Susec Aquapark.
While climbing up, we had some nice discussions about nature, people and history, he was very open to any topics.
At the top we took on the neopren suits and after some introduction the fun began. The whole family enjoyed and even my wife did the high jumps into the deep water. A few tricks could be repeated while waiting for the previous group to progress in the next stage,
It was a fun for all and arrived at the parking place pleasantly exhausted.
Jakob also did some GoPro shots which was sent to me the next day, furthermore he provided me a helmet with a GoPro mount, so I could use my action camera as well, so we have the best shots from two angles.
Highly recommend the trip and especially Jakob for anyone who is interested in canyoning and never...
