Spontaneously decided to kill 15 minutes before going to see James Morrison live at Teatro at Monte casino, mom and I popped into Kai Thai spa and restaurant.

We where ushered upstairs to a private massage area which over looked the restaurant. After relaxing on the recliner seats our masseuses walked in and attended to our treatments Zanele promptly started massaging my mother Neck and shoulders and Zama began with my foot massage. Both treatment where a little longer than the 15 minutes which was to our advantage.

My mother was “ooing and aahing” in ecstasy, and I was in complete bliss. My mother has been suffering with a shoulder injury for some time now and had been in great agony, her masseuse manipulated her shoulder to such an extent, zanele elevated the majority of her pain.

Midway through our massages our cocktails had arrived, that we had previously ordered on arrival of booking the treatments, and oh my golly gosh how tasty these delights where. Me opting for a pina colada which was thick and creamy, maybe one of the tastiest I’ve experienced, and I like my cocktails, mom chose a shaken margarita which was tangy to the taste with a dash of sour.

We used to love the professional and upmarket Khai Thai spa at Monti casino. This spa can't compare. It's run down and depressing. There is a school next door and I could hear children the whole entire time. I go for a massage to relax and get away from outside noises. The massage bed looked super depressing. See the photo attached. There was no music and I had to ask to put some music on. It's a standard practice when getting massaged. No Thai music. It wasn't even soothing music. Rooms are hot. No aircon, just a fan. The most shocking situation that occurred was the non-stop, loud chatting of massage ladies not working with one another. Before my massage started, I asked my massage lady to please tell them to pipe down. They didn't. 7 minutes into the massage , I asked my massage lady again to stop my massage and go ask the loud ladies to please stop chatting to one another so loud! My massage, however, was great. One of the Best Massages of My Life – Twice!

I’ve now been to Kai Thai Massage in Fourways twice and both times were absolutely incredible. Hands down, these were some of the best massages I’ve ever had — and I’ve had many over the years at both high-end spas and boutique wellness spots.

The therapists here are consistently excellent, which is rare and so refreshing. On my first visit, I went for the aromatherapy massage — it was deeply relaxing, with just the right amount of pressure. The second time, I opted for the deep heat massage, and wow, what a difference it made to my tight shoulders and lower back. I walked out feeling lighter, looser, and completely rejuvenated.

What really stands out is the value for money. For the quality of treatment and attention to detail, the pricing is almost too good to be true. The environment is also peaceful and clean, with a lovely, tranquil ambiance that immediately sets the tone for relaxation.

I love knowing I can rely on this place for a consistently great experience every time. It’s now my go-to massage spot in Joburg.
