This is suppose to be a gym in one of the most pretentious area's. Training there on and off week and at Sunninghill. After complaining so many times to the Staff. The amount of equipment compared to Sunninghill gym is shocking. All the riches of the rich in the area train at Dainfern, but like Sunninghill that can accommodate more than one popular machine - Dainfern is lacking the lay-out and extra double machines needed to cater in the most busiest time slots for the amount of clientele. I am shocked that nothing has been done and simple things like shoulder cushions to support machines (the valcro does not even stick on anymore) Should we as gym member go and buy you some ? It is a small cost for your gym clientele to make this gym cater for it's upmarket clientele. Such a stunning gym, but the lack of machines and equipment not in good standard or even air runners ? Really this cannot be tolerated any longer. When last has head office visited this gym? As for Sunninghill, you know who the club manager is, she is always on the floor. Making sure and let members know if their is certain machines that will be upgraded or if maintenance being worked on. Walking her floor all the time, greeting clientele. Where is the Club Manager of DAINFERN? Who is this person? Take a few tips from your Sunninghill Manager, not that I even know her. But I do train at both gyms. Am always shocked at the comparison. I cannot keep quiet any longer. Hope to see a change soon, Dainfern has the potential and they have the friendly staff. The manager and Head office or whoever is in charge is letting the customer...
Read moreI've never came across such horrible people at a gym before. I want to sign up at VA so I decided to check out the Dainfern gym and decide between that or another in the area. I was asked to fill in my details which I did, I chatted to a consultant to explain the situation, we agreed that I would check out the facility to see if I'm happy. After using the gym, I told Precious at reception that I'm still not 100% sure and that I would decide by tomorrow (before month end in order to still get the current promo). Her response, with an extremely rude facial expression, was that the consultant said that if I didn't sign up then I have to pay the day rate of R335! I've never seen that magnitude of greed in my life. When I entered, there was no mention of a day rate, they were happy to let me look see. This practice is extremely unethical. They have made my decision to join a different gym very very easy. I'm not sure that I should join Virgin Active at all. Additionally, I entered with an...
Read moreI had several incidents with 3 different STAFF within a short time of me being there. I will keep them nameless but their behavior was totally unprofessional!
1st: a staff member had opened my grocery bag in front of me and had taken out a coffee satchel. I didn’t argue but it was really weird and unprofessional and then she asked if she could have 4 satchels and I had to say no.
2nd: a staff member asked if I could lend her around R1000 as her mom was ill. She said she would pay it back at month end. I did so and she didn’t pay it back I until I basically consistently asked her to.
3rd: a staff member who used to do the Express Abs with me decided to be super rude to me during an ab exercise after being asked to help me when she was using the bathroom. She even scoffed at me when I had been using a ball for abs with her.
This behavior is SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL. I have never experienced this kind of gym...
