Steers Dainfern Square — Restaurant in Gauteng

I recently ordered a takeaway from Steers at Dainfern Square, and while I usually enjoy their flame-grilled burgers, this visit fell short of expectations.

Service & Speed: The staff were polite and took my order efficiently, which I appreciated. The wait time was reasonable, around 10 minutes, but unfortunately, the quality of the food didn’t quite match the level of service.

Food Quality: I ordered a burger combo, and while the portions were generous, the burger wasn’t warm enough by the time I received it, disappointing for something freshly prepared. It tasted like it had been sitting out for a few minutes before being packed.

Even more frustrating, the French fries were overcooked, they were hard, dry, and lacked the usual texture and taste I expect from Steers. I usually enjoy their seasoned fries, but this time they were simply not enjoyable.

Packaging: The packaging was decent, nothing spilled and everything was neatly packed, but good packaging can only do so much when the food inside is below par.

Final Thoughts: I’ve had better experiences at other Steers branches, so maybe this was just an off day. That said, when you’re ordering a takeaway, you expect hot, fresh food and unfortunately, this order didn’t deliver on that. I might give them another try in the future, but I’ll definitely double-check everything before...

Dainfern Steers is the worst store I have dealt with. This is the 2nd time they messed up our order and blamed Uber. They put peri peri sauce on our burger and said it was Uber fault. Nkosi was the person we spoke to and he had a disgusting attitude, before I could even say what was wrong he said call Uber it is their fault, then told me he is not allowed to talk to customer only Uber can, all we said was their was peri peri accidentally put on our burgers to which he said this is not his problem and will not help as policy says he can’t talk to me, he then just hung up. The time before that they gave us a burger instead of ribs and again blamed Uber and refused to help - we buy a lot in store with occasional Uber order, I will be posting this on our local groups and advise caution when dealing with Steers Dainfern, especially Nkosi. We are not ever buying from this store and will make sure everyone we know understands the risks of transaction with such an organization...

AWFUL!! Rude arrogant staff. They managed to get 2 consecutive orders wrong… we ordered 3 items - 2 Mo’cheese burgers and large crispy chips. Nothing was right. When we called the store to say they sent the wrong order, the dude on the phone blatantly blamed the Uber delivery driver, even once the driver was standing on our property to collect the incorrect order, was obtrusive and refused to acknowledge a simple mistake- the manager, unfortunately was far worse…. A poorly run shop, evidenced by shoddy workmanship (soggy, messy thrown together burgers and limp anemic chips) and the apparent inability to read and correctly prepare and package a simple order.
