I've been a member at this gym for about 4 months now, and my experience so far has been quite positive. The locker rooms are always clean, and I regularly see the staff working diligently to maintain a fresh and hygienic environment, which is commendable.
The sauna is generally functional, although at times, it's not as warm as one would expect. Additionally, the wooden benches in the sauna need attention, as some of the planks are loose and could pose a risk of injury if stepped on incorrectly. It would be beneficial if these benches were replaced or properly repaired.
On the positive side, there is a steam bath available when the sauna isn't working, which is a nice alternative. However, I would appreciate it if the gym management could ensure that the sauna is consistently operational.
Regarding the TV in the men's locker room, I must mention that it hasn't been displaying clear images ever since I joined. It would be great to have a better functioning TV, along with some additional sporting channels featuring South African sports like cricket, rugby, golf, tennis, and commonwealth sports etc. Currently, the TV only shows soccer every day I'm at the gym, and even during big live international and South African sporting events like the Cape Epic, Tour de France, Comrades, the channel remains fixed on non-relevant soccer content on replay. Diversifying the sports channels would be a thoughtful addition.
On a positive note, the swimming pool is excellent—always clean, tidy, and maintained well. The average temperature of the pool ranges between 26 to 31 degrees Celsius, which is comfortable for swimming.
In conclusion, my experience with the gym has been enjoyable, with some areas that could use improvement. I recently visited the gym to discuss a new 2-year membership, and I must express my deep disappointment with the service I received, particularly from the manager, Cobus. Regrettably, the manner in which I was treated was far from satisfactory. It is disheartening to see a manager displaying such a lack of professionalism and people skills. A welcoming and respectful atmosphere should be a top priority for any establishment, especially one catering to guests.
Furthermore, there were several operational issues that need to be addressed. The sauna functionality was intermittent, which hindered the overall experience. Additionally, there were recurring problems with nails and wood protruding from various areas, which is a safety concern that demands immediate attention. Another issue was the inconsistent attendance of instructors for booked classes, making it uncertain whether the sessions would begin on time or even take place at all.
In terms of the gym's equipment, the free weight section was inadequately arranged, lacking sufficient space between the equipment. This arrangement not only compromised the safety of users but also impeded the ease of navigating the area. Moreover, the prolonged delay in repairing the machines was a source of frustration for patrons, as it hindered their ability to effectively utilize the facilities.
Given these concerns, I am relieved to learn that a new Planet Fitness branch is scheduled to open in the near future. Hopefully, this new establishment will offer a more professional and efficient experience for fitness enthusiasts like myself.

I cancelled my membership over a year ago and moved on with my life. Then, out of nowhere, my bank account started getting debited again—for a membership I did not reactivate. I never authorized it, and I still don’t know who did. It feels like money is being stolen from me.
What’s worse is the complete lack of accountability. I’ve visited the branch, sent countless emails, and spoken to multiple staff members—but I keep getting no feedback or resolution. Every time I speak to someone, I have to explain the whole story again like it’s the first time. It’s exhausting.
