Cheongju Yukgeori Traditional Market — Local services in Cheongju-si

A large traditional market that has vendors for meat, fish, fruit n vegetables, spices, preserved foods, apparel etc. It also has food stalls that one can eat at to try the original cuisine which locals enjoy. Prices are reasonable as many locals patronise this market. It’s a lively atmosphere and quite enjoyable to browse around as it’s relative clean and dry. The fish, fruits n vegetables here are amazingly fresh and one can also purchase live fish. It’s well worth a walkabout for 2hours or so and then to catch a meal there. Plenty of local delicacies and delicious food to try. Most vendors speak little or no English so use a translator or sign language! Well...

Very nice and big street market with all kind of goods. Perfect for getting fresh fish or meat and all the things you need for cooking it like spices or mushrooms. There are also some snacks to get, especially those with red beans.

Faint-hearted people should be aware there are traders in some side streets selling living animals like chicken and rabbits. Nothing bad or unusual but maybe not...
