I believe many foreigners are not aware of this small but still fulfilling aviation museum. Located in walking distance from Gimpo airport domestic terminal. The easiest way and maybe most time efficient, coming from Seoul, would be to take the all stop airport rail from Seoul station. You also have the option to go by subway, bus or taxi. If you have access to a car the museum offers parking as well.

The museum operates from Tuesdays to Sundays, opening the doors at 10 am and runs until 6 pm. Entrance fee is..... Hold on .... Its free! 😀😀 That alone should be a reason if you're looking to explore and experience as much as possible while in Korea. However, whether you are a aviation geek or not doesn't matter. You can learn, interact and what about testing your skills as an air traffic controller, or what about seeing if you got what it takes to land a plane. Wonder how the crew training is, get a glimpse of what it's like.

From the stunning view from the observation deck to the history and cool artifacts placed throughout this circle shaped museum. The exterior building is really a beauty to look at from an architectural stand point. Although heavily aimed for kids, the other exhibits are still very well made.

As for food options, the options are very limited. So don't have too big expectations as there is just a simple cafeteria and convenience store. The cafeteria offers a very basic and few food selections, while snack and other items is available at the convenience store at the 2nd floor. Check out Korea's national Aviation Museum! This is my kind of museum. It's not as big as the War Memorial museum, but it is full of interest and includes both military & civil aviation sections. I think it's a great education for children who may have never been to an airport to see what the standard configuration of an airport looks like viz. Immigration, Customs, Check-In, Baggage, etc. I love the history of aviation, eg, the Wright Brothers, Frank Whittle's jet engine, etc, and the airline posters of the late 1950s like BOAC showing the limited air routes across the globe. You have a number of simulations you can take part in; I recommend the Korean Display team flight simulation; just 2000krw, and the best simulation I've ever experienced. You get rotated in every direction whilst watching the virtual reality flight through headset and experience barrel rolls, loops, and barrel rolls within loops. I must admit to feeling a bit disorientated and queezy for a while afterwards. Great views from the roof top 4th floor Observatory of the airport and flights...

The National Aviation Museum of Korea, located at Gimpo Airport, is the first national museum in the aviation field established by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to organize Korea's aviation history and promote collective understanding of the aviation industry. The National Aviation Museum of Korea consists of the Aviation History Hall, where visitors can learn about the history of Korean aviation, the Aviation Industry Hall, where visitors can get a glimpse of the current state of the aviation industry, and the Aviation Future Hall, where visitors can see various aviation technologies, airplanes and models for the future. Additionally, there is a unique experience space for those who have always dreamed of flying. Here, visitors can experience aviation through five different spaces including the Black Eagle boarding experience, an in-flight training experience, a pilot control experience, the air sports experience, and the children's...
