Mercat de Galvany is one of the many municipal food market in Barcelona. Things to know are: it’s the city’s largest iron structure and it is mainly a local market where mostly local residents shop here, many have been shopping at Mercat de Galvany for generations. It is pricey but apparently quality is good. Nice to go and take a look here.

We had a wonderful breakfast here: tortilla de patatas with truffles and sausage, and toast with tomato and olive oil. Both dishes were really tasty and made with high-quality local ingredients. We also had croissants with Nutella, which were even better than those from other pastry shops downtown.

A great local fish, cheese, meat, fruit and vegetable market with a relaxed vibe. There is an excellent small cafe within with tables and seating, serving lovely coffee/wine bocadillo, tortilla and pastries. Loved it.

This is a typical Catalan market catering for locals. The building is like a temple d'aliments - food temple, with beautiful decoration and stained glass The majestic Galvani Market is located between Carrer de Santallo and Carrer d'Amigo in the center of Sant Gervasi. This market, in the uptown district of the city, offers a select array of produce inside a majestic building, which opened in 1927 and is listed as an artistic landmark. It comprises an exposed-brick structure with a large central dome and Catalan art-nouveau, or modernista, stained-glass windows. Galvany es uno de los mejores, si no el mejor, mercado de productos frescos de Barcelona. Tiene muchas tiendas que ofrecen excelentes carnes, quesos, canalones, productos de cerdo, conejo, codornices, frutas, verduras, comida para llevar y mariscos. Galvany es un mercado de barrio, así que no hay que preocuparse por los turistas.

Es difícil enumerarlos todos, pero aquí están algunos de mis favoritos: Lázaro Tu-Gar, Xarcuteria Raúl, Aviram Mónica, Tot de Platja Ruth y Torras Junoy.

¡En Lázaro tenemos carne de res de Nebraska tierna y sabrosa, además de leChau, chuletas de cordero, filetes locales, salchichas especiales y mucho más! ¡Todo fresco y delicioso! ¡Pasa por Torras y compra sus deliciosos canelones de ternera, así como una variedad de quesos y jamones! ¡En Aviram Monica siempre tenemos conejo, pollo y codornices frescos, así como especialidades hechas a mano! ¡En Raúl tenemos una increíble variedad de productos de cerdo, jamones, quesos y comida para llevar! ¡En Tot de Platja Ruth tenemos un excelente marisco local!
