Terrible place, avoid their parkings. Be aware, there are robbers around. Yesterday, 21.09.2019, parked my car there. Came in two-three hours, found broken window and all my luggage and items stolen. Asked security for help, instead watching cameras immediately and try to find robbers in hot pursuit, they told me “there are no cameras at all” (of course false), “go to police station and write report” and etc. Tried to explain them, I have a flight in a couple of hours, four kids crying, please send police patrol here to do some actions in place - nothing, no help at all. Called to police 112, asked to send patrol, nope, "go to local police office and write report". Very disappointed, it seems like both Mataro security and local police don’t even try to find robbers. Eventually went to police station and wrote report, they even didn’t ask me where exactly I parked my car, slot number and etc. They know that I’m a tourist and have a flight, so no rush, no man, no problem. All police report is just formality, so I can show it to rental car company. Read another reviews for last month - you will find several similar cases. So, be aware, robbers are there, never ever left your items inside car on the parking, even in day time, especially if you are tourists and travel by rental car. Know, they are hunting for tourists. Yesterday I parked my rental car in front of the gate. When I returned after and hour or so the rear window was broken and my bag was stolen. I had everything in my bag including my passport and money and many important documents. All are gone. There are no security people from the mall around. I hardly found the security room after asking many. The security people were just sitting there absoluletly careless. They did not even bother to come to check the car. They just said go to the police. The police station was even worse. They did not seem to care at all just to fulfill the procedure filed a report, nothing more. I have been reading many similar cases happened in the same place. It is obvious that they can prevent these incidents only by increasing the security a bit. I am sure that the thiefs are the same people and well known by police and the mall management but they just do nothing. My poor rental car which was with a broken window caused by the theaf, though I lost nothing but time to exchange a new car. I traveled around the world, China, Japan, Korea, USA, France, Thailand, Taiwan... And after drove decades , this is the very first time happened and it's a crowded shopping mall!!! At middle of the day!!! Just not exceeded one month I got Barcelona and finally I meet the nortorious criminal city. It even didn't happen in New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia when I also expected that may happen. Although my car insurance was covered all, but the procedures even didn't need police involved which also promoted criminals to do that again.
