Croscat — Local services in Olot

We walked here from the car park at Can Xel. With 3 kids and older relatives it is an easy walk and less than a couple of hours in total with plenty of time to take in the sights.

This place gives a real feel for the power or volcanoes and the well informed visitor centre helps bring it all to life. I actually preferred this area to the, perhaps more popular, Santa Margarita.

This is one of the five volcanos in the area. It is easy to reach by a 25 minutes walk through a plane route from the main road. In this volcano the crater is cut and people pass from the bottom of the crater seeing its different layers. One of the other volcanos offer a complete crater view from above but it is accessed by a longer and steep...

On s’est garé en face d’un restaurant où il y avait la piscine qui était gratuit. Un peu plus loin il y a un autre parking légèrement plus près a 4 euros en voiture. On a suivi le chemin n15 jusqu’à une bifurcation où on a eu un doute. Si vous souhaitez voir vraiment les terres rouge du volcan il faut suivre la route 15 vers le musée et le centre d’information. Nous on s’est trompé et on a pris la cote qui mène vers le sommet. Chemin assez compliqué même pour des sportifs pour au final être au sommet avec un point de vue sympathique mais sans plus et un petit édifice à moitié détruit.
