Iglesia de San Fernando Rey El sitio que ocupa esta iglesia, ha sido desde el inicio de la Conquista, territorio sagrado para el cristianismo, ya que desde fechas tan tempranas como 1520 data una primera capilla bajo la advocación de Santiago donde hoy está la Iglesia. La definitiva que hoy contemplamos hunde sus cimientos en 1679 y ha sido restaurada en muchas ocasiones y llama la atención de quien pase por delante de ella, obligándolo a detenerse, por el contraste entre la negra piedra y el blanco de las paredes. Pero el contraste no acaba ahí, ya que ese frio exterior, esconde un colorido interior que me recordó muchísimo al precioso primitivismo mexicano.

Multitud de imágenes llenan, literalmente la iglesia, aunque la más querida y la más accesible, al estar colocada a nivel de suelo, prácticamente es la de Santiago Apóstol. Si salimos de nuevo, y tenemos la suerte de estar en fiestas, vemos otra afinidad con las tierras americanas, los adornos hechos de papel y flores que llenan la iglesia y la plaza. Y un último detalle, el tejado no es tal, sino un conjunto de cúpulas de estilo árabe que completan y dan encanto a este...

Zostalam zaproszona przez przyjaciółkę na występ chóru Maspalomas, w ktorym spiewa. Cieszylam sie, chcialam.poczuc przedswiateczny klimat pelen uniesienia. Bylo juz po Mszy, godzina 20.30. Sporo ludzi ale bez tłumów. Weszłam z maleńkim pieskiem na rękach. Kościół w Playa del Ingles (z pięknymi witrazami) zawsze mi na to pozwala. Tu zostałam wyproszona przez jakiegoś opalonego starca ! Zapytałam kim jest ze mnie wyprasza, Odpowiedzial ze jest "cardinalo", cokolwiek to znaczy, nie zareagowałam i siedziałam dalej słuchając śpiewu chóru. Mój pies trząsł się jakby się bardzo bał, podobnie jak u weterynarza.... Okropne, zimne, nieprzyjazne miejsce, z sinym swiatlem i ze zlą energią. Nie polecam. Wyobrazcie sobie : sine swiatlo, gole sciany i jedyny krzyz meczenstwa na wprost wejscia plus konserwatywny starzec z władzą... Nic dziwnego ze ludzie przestali chodzić...
