Vinga trip was stunning and the guides there were great, but the boat captain ruined the experience for us. During seal-watching, he gave all the binoculars to other passengers and none to me or my wife (we were the only non-white people on board). He even joked, “You check for Orcas,” which felt uncomfortable.

I didn’t complain at the time because I wanted the family’s children to enjoy the moment — and they kindly shared their binoculars with us later — but the unequal treatment was noticeable.

Our trip was very very memorable. We took the mackerel fishing trip and saw lots of seals, caught 5 fishes and the weather was absolutely perfect. The only disappointment was the guide: Lassi, he was not friendly, a little irritable and was getting upset with us for making mistakes. Also he happened to see dolphins which he mentioned to us later instead of showing us then. Today, my family and I were welcomed by Lasse’s skill and kindness. He took us fishing, actively involving my kids in every single activity. Happy and content, we then arrived at a small and unique cottage on a private island, where we were delighted by Lasse’s culinary talents.
