Read moreA relatively large and very likeable shopping centre with two floors of fab shops, restaurants, cafés, smaller-sized supermarkets, and a third floor (floor 2) dedicated to a cinema with five screenings. There's also mini-golf, a children's play area, an old-fashioned fishmonger, and a variety of individual sellers with items, such as beautifully handcrafted chocolate items (a bottle top opener, anyone) or a selection of duvets. However, since writing this article in January 2020 and before Covid-19 made itself known widely, some restaurants have now closed for good.
Plenty of parking, outdoors as well as indoors over several floors. Wheelchair and buggy users have access to lifts and there are several escalators and stairs. The indoor parking is paid on the way out and it involves no parking slips to take with you on the way in or out (and get lost somewhere). Read moreI grew up with this place and I've seen it change over the years. And I'm no nostalgic saying things were better before, but I don't love the direction they've taken. My visits now are few and far between as I don't live anywhere close, but even before I moved I felt like more and more of the stores would move around a lot, and many would close down after only a few months. I went to school nearby for three years, and the constant construction work impeded the traffic almost every day. Even now when the big overhaul is finished, I still see construction happening. Still, I guess I'm not the target audience for this type of place. They've aimed for big and modern, and the place is just that. It looks nice enough, it's clean and has good lighting. Plenty of maps and touch screens to help you navigate. Bathrooms are free as far as I know. Prices tend to be inflated, but that's more on the individual stores. Plenty of places to eat and drink, not centralized in a food court. Just too big, expensive and loud...
