We just returned from a 3-day safari with Astro Safari and it exceeded all expectations.

John (our driver) and Joseph (our guide) were fantastic— knowledgeable, kind, and full of passion for what they do. It felt like traveling with locals rather than being on a standard tourist trip. We saw an incredible variety of animals: lions (also at night), giraffes, elephants, buffalos, hippos, zebras, even cheetahs. Thanks to their experience, we often arrived at the perfect spots before other groups.

Camping in the wild was a true highlight. The tents were simple and comfortable, and falling asleep to the sounds of nature was unforgettable. The food was freshly cooked, generous, and made with real care—it felt like being hosted by friends.

I've known Baraka and the whole Astro team for a long time now : first because of their amazing school project I had the chance to participate in, and then because we became close friends. Today, I'm happy that I can also warmly recommand them for a safari-experience. They are a very welcoming team : they will do everything to make you have the best time ever. The safari i did with my family - 2 days in Tarangire and one in Ngorongoro - was really well organized, the food was amazing, the car clean and very confortable, the driver ... the best! and the places to sleep well chosen. The + of Astro is that they are building this small family business with love and passion, and you can feel that when you travel with them! We did a three days safari in Serengeti national Park. Mr Baraka and Joseph are very competent and knowledgeable about wild animals and the park. We managed to see all the BIG 5 and much more! They really looked after us and we loved it. Astro safaris is a private company that is run by locals, so you can be sure that money stays with tanzanian people. On the top of that, Astro safaris is run by the same people that founded the Bright english Medium school in Loliondo. So, going to Safari with them means also...
