My husband and I booked a fairly last minute private safari with Marangu Treks and Safaris. They were extremely accommodating right from the start, sharing info on the 3-day itinerary and cost immediately, and booked our stay at the Fanaka lodge and campsites. Our guide, Octavian, picked us up from our hotel in Arusha right at the scheduled time and drove us directly to Tarangire National Park. Octavian is an amazing guide - generous with his knowledge about all animals, kind, excited to do his work and share what he knows and was eager to share his wider knowledge about Tanzania. We spent three days with Octavian, and learned a lot about wildlife, the Tanzanian landscape and history. Thanks to Octavian, we were able to spot the “Big Five”, which was so exciting! Our stay at Fanaka was also lovely - our room was clean and safe and the meals provided were delicious and filling. It was a great spot to be based for a couple nights during our safari. We had an awesome 4-day trip with Marangu trek and Safaris in Amboseli, Kenya. Great budget option safari ever seen. The van was comfy, and our guide, Frank was amazing at spotting animals (Honestly, it is hard to believe how good eyesight he is). We asked for hyenas, and he made sure we saw a bunch. The itinerary was well-planned—3-hour drive on a day one, full-day game drive with lunch on day two and three, and a nature walk on day four with a local Maasai guide from our camp. 5 days of trekking on Mt. Kilimanjaro via Marangu Route with such beautiful mountainous scenery and a great support team was the best experience of our lives! Our guide Fadhili, Cook and porters were very pleasant and knowledgeable and they made us feel very well-taken care of. The food was excellent and varied, tasty and filling and much as this trip was tough, everything was over-shadowed by the beautiful scenery and experiences. It was really a dream come true.
