I’ve worked with Expat Homes twice now and both of my experiences were absolutely superlative. Evan, Matt, Tata, and the rest of the team are not only great people but they are consummate professionals who listen to your needs and do everything they can to serve you and your family in the best possible way. The Expat Homes team also intimately understands the kinds of preferences that foreigners have in terms of build quality, neighborhood, and aesthetics. These are not trivial things and if you’ve tried searching for homes yourself you’ll discover that it’s not always an easy or stress free process. Not only did Evan and his team help us find two lovely homes to date, their maintenance team led by Win has also been competent, punctual, and timely in helping sort various home fixes. I’m not in any way being incentivized to write this review, nor was I even asked. But I honestly can’t understand some of the negative reviews here. I’ve done my own home search in different price ranges and neighborhoods in Chiang Mai and it’s just a big headache with a lot of wasted time, low standards, and hit or miss integrity. Whereas dealing with Expat Homes I know that they’ll never compromise on these things, and never have. They even help negotiate and deal with the owners on your behalf which is incredibly helpful. Plus they know all of the different areas and neighborhoods inside and out, including many of the families who live there! I’m beyond grateful that Evan and Matt and the EH team are here contributing to the local business community, always acting from a place of character, and working extremely hard to help families like ours live their best lives here in beautiful...
Read moreAfter renting the 1st house I found in Chiang Mai and staying for 8 months I needed to find a place where I could live long term.
I knew the facilities and locations I was interested in but the problem with searching the multiple property websites was that I was overloaded with houses that 'sort of' fitted my reqs. There are 1000's of properties Chiang Mai to rent.
I needed help and approached 2 other home finder/agents (1 English/1 Thai) to help me. But to no avail. Frankly the service I was offered by others was terrible. I was losing faith.
Then I came across EXPAT homes. At a 1-1 meeting I was very specific about my needs and ideas and EXPAT homes said they would look around and try to help me.
They can explain how they work, I'm just gonna tell you that it worked. A week later they had lined up half a dozen properties that 'sort of' fitted my criteria and so we went on a drive round to visit them all. I was so impressed with the houses I made an offer on 1 straight away and left my other house immediately forfeiting the 2 months security deposit.
They found the house, negotiated with the Thai owner, prepared the lease agreement and helped me move my stuff with their 2 men and van. It was all done very quickly and smoothly.
What sets them apart from other agents is their diligence to go and look for properties, not just do another search. They actively drive around and make contact with 1000's of owners.
EXPAT homes did me a favour. For them to grow, they need new customers, and to offer more value-added services such as cleaning, gardening and so on.
If it's a house you want - go and see Evan, Matt...
Read moreWhat was once 100% the best service available, is now average and bewildering. I rented through expats in World Club but found conditions were not ideal. Looked again after 1 year but at that time xpats had nothing that suited us in our price range and We went with another agency. Even though we appreciated the xpat service. We found our new location a real disappointment and contacted xpatsnto inform them We were looking again. Although they found a couple potential locations We again found a home through an independent agent. We enjoyed the new location, but do to its distance and other inconviences We decided to look again and contacted ExPatsbexclusively and told both Matt and Tata we. we're looking. After over a month of waiting and seeing many homes on Facebook I had still heard nothing from anyone at ExPats and reached out to Matt to question why and if I had been placed on a do not reply list. He assured Me that was not the case. And that his associate had been very busy. Well short story long after now 3 months I have yet to be contacted with a single home to consider. Nor any explanation as to why. This is unfortunate. I negotiated a better price with My current landlord over the negative issues and have chosen to stay. That doesn't bexplain the Failure by ExPat Homes to provide me with anything other than lip service. With company growth comes a diligence to focus on fundamentals. They will not be...
