Huen Phen Restaurant 2 — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

We stopped at Huen Phen Restaurant 2 after a wonderful day exploring Doi Inthanon National Park. The restaurant is cute and we were one of only two tables occupied. The four front staff took turns taking care of us, in between swatting flies with flyswatters throughout the restaurant. We got 3 bowls of Khao soi gai, some omelettes, fried chicken, and some fish. Overall, I rate the Khao soi 3 out of 5, as it was very sweet for my taste. However, my husband really enjoyed his after adding a heavy dose of chilies, saying it was a top contender for all the Khao soi gais that we've tasted on this trip. My kids enjoyed their omelettes, fish, and chicken (my other son found the khao soi too sweet as well). Overall, it was enjoyable and worth the visit - especially since it was a stop on the way...

If you like Northern Thai food then you will love this place. 5 of us went for dinner around 530p. We didn't have to wait so that was nice. The service was good. Staff was friendly and the food was great. We enjoyed everything we ordered. We tried Sour Sausage grilled in banana leaf with egg, kao ngew, fried Northern pork sausage, & Tom yum kung. Good food. Place very clean and good decor. This is the second time I go to this place. The first time it was very cold ❄️ with the AC full blast. Then it's not comfortable and food get colder very fast. Second time exactly same cold 🥶 temperature.
