Interesting but Mixed Experience at the Floating Village
This floating village is almost a must-visit. Home to around 300 families, itâs a fascinating place that offers a real glimpse into local life. You can, for example, see children attending school, which adds a very authentic touch to the experience.
The village is mostly made up of shops and stalls selling a wide range of products, though many of them are of questionable quality. At times, the vendors can be quite pushy. Unfortunately, the village itself is not in great condition â thereâs visible litter everywhere, including in the water, which is a bit disappointing. Itâs a shame the residents donât take more care of their environment.
Itâs highly recommended to visit the village with a guide, as youâll receive valuable background information about its history and daily life.
We had lunch at the Koh Panyee Village Restaurant, which was surprisingly good. This fairly modern restaurant stands out from the rest of the village and offers a pleasant...
Read moreKo Panyi is a fascinating little floating island near Phuket â truly a must-visit spot! Our tour guide took us here on the way back from James Bond Island, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the day. The village, built entirely on stilts over the water, is an incredible example of how people have adapted to life at sea.
We had superb food at one of the local restaurants â fresh, flavorful, and authentic Thai taste. Walking around the floating village, seeing the small shops and the local way of life, was an amazing experience.
I also managed to get some drone shots, which looked absolutely stunning from above! However, a word of caution â do not fly your drone unless you have proper registration and permission from the Thai authorities. Every drone flight needs to be registered through the CAAT app , and flying without approval can lead to serious trouble.
Overall, Ko Panyi is a wonderful and unique place, offering a perfect blend of scenic beauty, culture, and great food. Highly...
Read moreI visited Koh Panyee on a warm midday, and the experience was truly memorable. This floating Muslim village, built entirely on stilts, is unlike any place Iâve seen before! The people here are incredibly kind and welcoming to tourists from all around the world.
ð The village has a rich cultural charm â from its floating mosque to narrow alleys lined with souvenir shops and local homes. I had lunch at one of the restaurants on the island â while the food was tasty, I found it a bit pricey compared to other places in the region. Still, the unique dining experience in the middle of the bay made it worthwhile.
ð As a registered and licensed drone pilot in Thailand, I was thrilled to capture stunning aerial shots of the island and village. The drone views are absolutely breathtaking, and Iâll be uploading them soon on my YouTube channel, PintoCreations.
A beautiful stop for anyone exploring Phang Nga Bay â peaceful, picturesque, and full of heart. Definitely...
