FRAUD Reported to My Bank for Investigation - NO REFUND/ Criminal Enterprise

This a tuk tuk tour scam where they pick up tourists near the river taxis drop off for the Royal Palace and they'll tell you that it is closed to foreigners in the afternoon, it's a lie. They'll push you to take a tuk tuk tour where one of the stops is James Fashion International. Once inside, they will promise to customise a suit made of Himalayan Cashmere wool with Thai Silk lining, this is a lie.

I was measured for a suit, paid 10,000 Baht (£210), which was delivered the next day to the hotel, where there were no means to assess the fit without all round mirrors.

Typically, a decent tailor can achieve a good fit without further fittings as they have experienced from previous purchases of custom suits in Hong Kong. These guys knew I was leaving Bangkok in a day time, they delivered the suit close to my departure so knew any complaints would be impractical.

Once I returned home back in the UK, the suit proved too large, had serious excessive amounts of fabric, poor craftsmanship in fabric non alignment, awful fit so bad it looked like it was made for someone else (excessively baggy trousers and far too long of a suit jacket) and I was informed by a local tailor that the material used is very cheap synthetic (contrary to the agreed 100% Cashmere Wool/ Thai Silk). And therefore it creases badly and stays that way, it simply does not drape as wool would.

This suit is so far removed from being tailored fit, it's comical. It's like it was made for someone else. I have several custom tailored suits, and even some off-the rack suits ranging from Zegna, Barberis, Cerruti. And each one of those suits have a far superior fit and material, so I know what quality fit looks like and it is not this.

I have written a TripAdvisor review for this and the owner has attempted to gaslight and deflect rather than address obvious deficiencies. The owner claims that the suit isn't too long despite the length going way past my groin and covers the entire seat (butt area) of the trousers, and some more. The vent of the jacket flairs out rather than drape like. Crazy.

My local tailor advised me not to alter this badly made suit as it would not be financially worth it. Remember this suit was meant to be a tailor fit style constructed by using the measurements they took themselves, and supposedly made with pre-agreed materials which I had selected from their shop floor.

You'll only see no refund policy once you've paid as it'll be on the receipt. They will not inform you of a 'No Refund Policy' until after you have paid. All of this you can see in my photos. This is an embarrassment to Thailand, its people and the local government authorities needs to take action against this rogue enterprise.

I don't normally write reviews but felt compelled to in this unfortunate instance. A complete fraud, reported to my bank.

Do yourself a favour, read the 1 star reviews on TripAdvisor (very accurate), they like me, understand what this place really is. Check it out before you commit to pay for anything at all. Don't get me wrong, the people who work there are charming and nice enough but the product is a complete...

Absolutely fantastic tailors. I came here while visiting family in Bangkok to get a custom suit. They had an excellent selection of materials and style choices. Staff were kind, attentive, and professional. They were clearly talented as well.

My relatives thought the pricing was a bit high but I think the quality actually made it a great deal. Here’s the breakdown so you can decide for yourself: I bought a suit that included a new jacket, trousers, and 2 shirts. They were all made of imported Italian cashmere. I paid 18,000 baht which at the time translated to $540 USD. Based on the quality and materials, I’d estimate the suit would have easily cost me $3,400 in the States. They were also very quick. I never felt rushed, they took their time with walking me through the options and the fittings, but they made the suit in 2 days time (a favor, as I was leaving in 2 days, but they made it seem like that wasn’t an uncommon or unreasonable timeframe for them).

While I was making my choices and taking my fittings (I had two fittings) my family was able to rest in comfortable chairs with coffee, tea, and water served to them at no extra cost.

I also felt the staff took my needs and desires seriously and were quick to make last minute changes (I walked out of the shop with my suit 20 minutes after my second fitting as they adjusted the jacket).

Parking was easy too as they hold the two spots out front open for their customers with attendants there to ensure the spots aren’t taken and assist folks out of their cars.

While I was the only one to buy anything this time, they also do women’s custom clothes.

I’ll certainly be back the next time...
