Koh phangan is a beautiful island, highly recommend coming but if there is any certain advice I can give you it is to never book here. We were told to book accommodation well in advance when visiting this island as it is very busy so we booked this place 2 weeks before to ensure there was no hassle. We arrived at the front desk to check in and there was a line up of upset customers saying their rooms had been overbooked and they no longer had the room that was confirmed by the hotel. We were then told the same thing by a very unapologetic lady at the front desk, after a while she told us she had figured out a different place for us to stay. We originally felt bad and didn’t want the whole thing to ruin our trip so we agreed, only to be shuttled to an absolute dump of a place. We ended up spending way more then our budget at a different place due to the last minute booking and it was only available for 1 night. We spent the following 9 hours consumed in trying to find a place so we could stay in koh phangan for a week like we had planned. Not only did this ruin our accommodation plans it ruined our entire trip to koh Phangan as we had to book a boat to koh tao and leave the next day. Luckily me and my boyfriend had an open ended flight and weren’t strapped for time. I can’t say the same for the other family’s who were there for their 2 week vacation that was ruined by the hotels blatant overbooking of rooms for profit. Wishing I had read a review like this before choosing to book this place over so many other places that were available when we were first looking. Don’t let this hotels photos deceive you, there are so many better places to stay...
Read moreUpdate: June 19th 2025. I would not stay anywhere in Haad Yao now. It’s all one big construction site. Every road has bungalows being built, the beach construction is extensive and very noisy…. Everyone one is repairing, building or upgrading everything . It all starts at 8 am goes until 6 pm and it’s 7 days a week.
This is a lovely beach however I would not stay near it and definitely not on it. Apart from the loud competition music from the resorts on the beach there is a massive construction project which has at least a year or more to run and takes up 1/3 of the beach area. The noise starts at 8am and finishes around 4 or 5 . It’s awful. They have also run 200 meters of corrugated fencing along the beach front. Dreadful.
Update April 9th. The noise has increased dramatically as the construction continues. AVOID.
18th August. I live on the side of the Hill half a mile away and it’s like they are hammering metal from morning to evening with 30 guys . The noise is off the charts .
Still a long long way to go . Keep away
September 2nd
The construction continues over a year to go approximately. The construction company has let the awful fence collapse and now there is trash all over the...
Read moreI visited this beach with two friends. The beach is easily accessible, but the signs are unclear, making it difficult to figure out which exit to take. The beach itself is wide, with soft white sand, and is beautiful. The waves are nice—not too high—and make the water enjoyable. There's also a nice café where you can get fresh coconut water, which is really refreshing in the heat. They offer drinks, cocktails (which are very tasty), and authentic Thai food as well. There’s a swing that allows you to launch yourself into the sea, but it's unsafe because the water is not deep enough, so you could fall hard onto the bottom. Children should be cautious when using it. Overall, it was a...
