Walking through this bazaar felt like stepping into the heart of Tunisia’s culture and traditions. The atmosphere is vibrant, full of colors, scents, and the sound of local artisans proudly showcasing their work. You can find an incredible variety of souvenirs here — from handwoven carpets, olive-wood crafts, ceramics, and traditional pottery to beautiful jewelry, leather goods, and fragrant spices. The sellers are welcoming without being pushy, and many are happy to share the stories behind their products, which makes the shopping experience feel authentic and personal. Prices are reasonable, and bargaining is part of the fun! If you want to bring home something truly Tunisian — whether it’s a piece of art, a unique gift, or simply some traditional spices to relive the flavors — this bazaar is the perfect place. A must-visit spot if you want to experience the essence of Tunisia.

Very pushy shopkeepers, but that was to be expected. However, the souk is dirty and neglected. The positive is that there are some shops that have set prices that are quite reasonable. There is a wide selection for souvenirs, hand crafted items, and clothing. It's worth a visit for an afternoon.

A place where you can buy traditional Tunisian pottery in Houmt Souk, the Hamsa design is so far my favorite and I already own one 😍 ps. That’s something you find in everything Tunisian household. So get yourself some too!!
