Looking for alternatives to the pricey dental treatments in the UK can feel like a gamble. At times I got pretty overwhelmed with all the research, so I decided to check out Trustpilot and typed in "Turkey Teeth." a bunch of well-reviewed options popped up, and Smile Dental Turkey had some of the best reviews, so I decided to start my year-long journey with them.
It kicked off with me sending over some pictures of my teeth and an x-ray, which my UK dentist helped me with. They gave me some advice but said I needed to be there in person for a 3D x-ray of my teeth. They also gave me a rough idea of costs, steps, and how long everything would take—nothing was left out. I booked my first trip, and Smile kindly picked me up from the airport and took me to my hotel. They even sent me details about when they'd be picking me up the next morning.
The consultation was super thorough and friendly. I thought my teeth were in bad shape and was ready to just have them all pulled, but the two consultants said, "No way!" They explained that my other teeth were stable, and they would never pull good teeth if they didn't have to. They suggested crowning over the healthy ones to match the implants I would need, and mentioned I would need a sinus lift and bone graft since I was missing some teeth in the back. This was done the next day, and then I had to wait about five months for the new bone to set.
For my second trip, I had the implant plugs put in. Yekta Ozsoy was my specialist, and he was great at keeping me calm. He clearly explained what I needed to do before my final visit and what to expect next.
When I returned for my final appointment, I was greeted warmly. Unlike some other places, Smile has a discreet entrance that leads into a bright and clean space. They took me to my room upstairs and checked if I needed anything (though I didn't, since they had a coffee station and a fridge stocked with soft drinks). The room was cozy with a sofa, Xbox, and a big TV—everything was spotless. Throughout the appointment, they kept me updated on timelines and what was happening, so I never felt lost. They also made sure to double and triple-check the color and style of my teeth before anything was made permanent.
In short, the service was impeccable, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the specialists were knowledgeable and helpful. I'm a very happy customer who hasn't stopped smiling...
Read moreThis a retrospective review after one year since my treatment at Smile Dental Antalya. In 2023 after suffering with tooth ache for 18 months and life long cosmetic dental issues set about researching surgery abroad. It took 3 months of research and contacting seemingly endless dentist in Antalya to find this practice and I am so pleased I have. From my 1st consultation on Whatsapp to my returning one year later for an annual check up they have been professional, kind, caring, and helpful as anyone could wish for. After my 1st contact with Smile dental, they advised me to have a dental x-ray taken so they could asses and give a guide price to the work required. I was quoted between £4500 and £5500 depending on my choice of crowns and amount of remedial works required. When I arrived a 3D scan was taken and after an oral inspection I was given they revised the quote to £3595 a reduction of almost £1000 due to the fact my teeth where in better condition than they had anticipated, proving how honest and trust worthy they are! Dr Dt Fatma Uslu skill and judgment is unmatched. Dr Uslu has quite literally changed my life and I can not thank you enough. Everybody I meet complements me on how nice my teeth look (even in a fancy dress Halloween outfit) they say "you have got such nice teeth" I always give a big smile and say "thank you" When I returned last week for my annual check up the welcome I received was like from friends and family. I could have easily had the check up in the UK but why would you not want to visit their beautiful country and these lovely people and have a little holiday. I would like to thank you all once again for your kindness and look forward to seeing...
Read moreI visited this clinic on January 15, 2024, and I have decided to share the truth about my experience. I had 28 crowns installed at this clinic, and I am not satisfied. A year has passed, and it has been a difficult one. I have had to visit the dentist countless times due to infections in the tooth roots and gums. Additionally, I have seen a dental hygienist three times, spending a significant amount of money trying to save my teeth from further infection.
What is the problem? After consulting several professional dentists, they all agree that the quality of the crowns is poor. Under the gumline, where the crown meets the tooth, there is a “step” – an uneven surface where food debris and bacteria accumulate. This design flaw makes it difficult to maintain proper hygiene.
You might say I need to brush my teeth thoroughly – and I do! My routine involves rinsing the gaps between my teeth with a water flosser, followed by flossing and brushing with antibacterial toothpaste. Despite this meticulous care, if I skip this routine even for a day, inflammation begins.
I have contacted the clinic numerous times, but they consistently respond that they do not see any problems. However, both Latvian and Finnish dentists have confirmed that the quality of the crowns is poor and that all of them need to be replaced. Although the clinic claims on paper to use zirconia crowns, this is not true – they have used a mixed-material crown, which is not suitable for long-term dental health.
Additionally, European dentists have diagnosed me with periodontitis caused by these poor-quality crowns. In hindsight, I would have been better off keeping my natural teeth.
I do not recommend this...
