We used Kaunos tours for two trips - the Dalyan Safari and the canyon trip. Both had tour guide Harry, a very enthusiastic fellow, leading the groups. Both trips were reasonably priced and really enjoyable.
In short, I really recommend Kaunos Tours from the two tours we partook in. I would recommend other tourists ask more questions while booking than we did though, as we were left poorly equipped a couple of times. Ask about food and drink availability and costs and if there are going to be opportunities to swim or sunbathe depending on the tour - it can help you decide what you need to bring.
The safari involves travelling in jeeps across the mountains across the Dalyan river, visiting lovely spots for some amazing photographs. I would recommend wearing some clothes you don't mind getting dusty - and also a swimming costume, as there were 3 opportunities to take a dip - in the sulphur pools, the lake and at the beach. There is a free lunch (no free drinks though!) prepared by a lovely lady in the mountains. It was authentic and genuinely delicious. Throughout Harry told us about the history of the locations or the sights and some local information about what we were seeing. In terms of wildlife it was mostly donkeys and cats - no issue for me, but I suspect some other tourists may misinterpret the 'safari' aspect.
The canyon trip involved travelling by van to first a waterfall and activity centre, then to a second location with the canyon and some other river activities. I would recommend wearing a pair of old shoes you don't mind getting wet if you are going to actively participate in the waterfall and canyon walk, and a change of shoes afterwards. If you are careful, you won't get anything else wet. The waterfall was beautiful and we paid for a giant swing activity which was good fun. The free lunch was a kebab, and was lovely (drinks were not free!). The canyon was the best part for us. Harry managed to get us past the lines which was a massive bonus, and while in the canyon you can immediately cool off in the freezing river. We then proceeded to walk through the canyon - involving a minor level of climbing till reaching a boulder you have to go under to continue traversing. The sights were amazing and the canyoning was right...
Read moreWe use Kaunos Tours every time we go to Dalyan (4 times since 2015) and have never been disappointed. Their professionalism, offer and reliability are a great peace of mind. We have favourite outings we go on every time: Day Safari (in Land Rover with a great new guide, Aziz) for the great view of the beach and the wetlands, swims in cold river, warm secluded beach and even warmer lake, and lunch in beautiful surroundings in the mountains (go with your swimsuit on, they will make sure you are wet throughout the day!!); the Moonlight Boat Tour with BBQ, swim in lake and a trip to the Mud Baths and hot spring, we had a great time this year with guide Rami on the Blue Nest; we added two new ones: the EcoSafari Tour with Hidayet, to see the bay from the opposite side, with brunch in the mountains with a great view and swim in a small isolated beach (we added a visit to Kaunos ruins early in the morning, we loved hearing about history from Hidayet, he's very knowledgeable), and Ekincek Bay Boat tour, very relaxing, lovely food and great swimming spots, on the Blue Nest again. In the past we also went to Saklikent gorges, white water rafting and gorge walking/swimming. All great fun and very well organised. Office Manager Salih and Guides Hidayet and Aziz were very welcoming and fun to spend time with, as always. Hidayet prepared us a nice tailored programme for our 9 days there, as he always does. Highly recommended. Their office is conveniently located in the centre, right by the Turtle Roundabout and open late in the evening (with AC and free...

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Kanous Tours Dalyan. From the moment we landed, everything was taken care of. The airport transfer was smooth and stress-free, and with their help, we quickly sorted out a rental car that made exploring the area so easy.
The highlight of our trip was definitely the excursions. The boat trip along the Dalyan River was absolutely magical — peaceful, scenic, and full of fascinating history. We also loved the transfer to the stunning beach, where we had plenty of time to relax and enjoy the crystal-clear water. And then came the Jeep Safari, which was truly incredible — unforgettable views, great company, and a chance to see Dalyan from a whole new perspective.
