I am extremely disappointed with the parking services provided by Sharjah Municipality. In my opinion, they are the worst type of service providers, as they seem to prioritize maximizing profits from fines rather than ensuring the wellbeing of the citizens. My recent experiences with their unjust parking fines have left me feeling frustrated and disheartened. One of the most frustrating aspects of Sharjah Municipality's parking services is the frequency of receiving fines for seemingly trivial reasons. It is disheartening to be fined even when I am inside my car or when I have just stepped out for a few minutes. Such occurrences have become distressingly normal, indicating a serious flaw in their parking enforcement system. Instead of focusing on maintaining order and facilitating a smooth parking experience, it appears that their primary concern is generating revenue through excessive fines. The lack of consideration for citizens' wellbeing is evident in the municipality's rigid approach towards parking enforcement. Instead of adopting a fair and reasonable attitude, the municipality seems to be more interested in catching people off guard and issuing fines left and right. This approach not only burdens the citizens with unnecessary financial burdens but also creates a sense of fear and uncertainty when it comes to parking in Sharjah. It is truly disheartening to witness such a lack of empathy and understanding from the municipality, which should be responsible for providing efficient and citizen-friendly services. Their inability to strike a balance between enforcing parking regulations and considering the needs of the citizens is both bizarre and pathetic. As a result, the overall experience of parking in Sharjah has become an unpleasant and frustrating ordeal. I strongly urge the Sharjah Municipality to reevaluate their parking services and shift their focus towards improving the overall experience for citizens. It is crucial that they prioritize fairness, transparency, and the wellbeing of the community over their pursuit of maximum profit from fines. Citizens should feel confident that the parking regulations are in place to maintain order and facilitate convenience, rather than as a means to exploit...
Read moreI had a very disappointing, helpless and bad experience with sharjah municipality parking department! The event happened on the evening of 06-Sep-2024 when myself, my family including my disabled son went for shopping at evening: I have my son's People of Determination card (disabilities card) issued by MOCD, UAE displayed properly and clearly on my dashboard and still they slapped a fine of 1000 AED over my already overburdened shoulder 🥺, claiming illegal parking in parking reserved for disabled people. This is a 100% error and failure from their staff in ensuring weather there was a valid proof of disability issued from UAE displayed on the dashboard! I applied for appeal through the Sharjah Municipality website attaching all the valid proofs such as physical disabilities (POD) card, proof of relation, and IDs hoping they will cancel the fine caused by their own error. But unfortunately, to my surprise they ignored and rejected my valid appeal! I felt so much betrayed and depressed. Because this unnecessary fine amount is the very amount I allocated to spend for my son's treatment and it costs me exactly 5 sessions of physiotherapy treatments. My disabled son requires a lifelong treatment. All his treatment expenses are paid straight out of my hard earned salary as there is no health insurance company in the UAE that will support a sensible and affordable health insurance for disabled people who needs consistant treatments throughout his life! We arranged the POD card from MOCD UAE trusting the system, but we were slapped with fine which cannot even be appealed. This is the truth and I am completely sure none of these carelessness with their awareness and loss caused to me due to it will pass unnoticed on the day...
———————————————————————- I would like to share my personal experience, which left me with a very negative impression of the parking system in Sharjah. During my first visit to the UAE from Germany, I made sure to pay parking fees regularly and on time. However, upon returning the car, I was shocked to find that I had accumulated four parking fines within just one week!
Three of these fines were issued because I delayed renewing the parking ticket by 2-3-6 minutes. I find it neither reasonable nor logical to issue a fine so quickly! It’s extremely difficult for anyone to renew parking within two minutes, especially for a first-time visitor unfamiliar with the system.
This experience was very frustrating and left me with a negative impression of the system, even though I was diligent in paying the parking fees throughout my usage. I believe it’s necessary to reconsider this policy to make it more flexible and accommodating, especially for visitors who may not fully understand the system.
I hope these comments are taken into account to improve the overall experience for both visitors in the future.
