5* for Aberdeen staff They are Real stars, especially Karolina, Ben and Weronika who dealt with our complicated case. However, the most shining star is Iain - the manager, who resolved the case. On our first visit in IKEA store after a long trip (we live 2.5 h away from Aberdeen) we had two issues. The first was related to the order/delivery and our post code. The staff could not process our order because the system kept rejecting our post code for some reason.(PH26) Karolina and Ben made few attempts and were trying other solutions but resulting with no luck. Without us asking Karolina and Ben went to speak with manager, who came up to find a solution. He made few phone calls and found the way to overcome this technical problem as machines are not always helping. Also he made us feel very welcome and comfortable. He left us with Ben to go through the finance process and here we got another issue with Ikano bank procedure and the address approval. I was surprised that they asked for it as we live at the address for over 5 years and had all sorts of documents with me to prove it. Unfortunately, that can't be done over the phone. It must happen physically at the given address so we had to go home, wait for the letter from Ikano with provided envelope for my docs and sent it to them. This took a while about a week or so until we got another letter confirming that the application for finance has been approved and we must go back to the store again to place the order. As soon as we got that, we were back on the road again to Ikea Aberdeen store to process the application. When we finally got to the store to finalise the order, one of the staff named Weronika told us that the original order can't be completed as there was few items out of stock. The unavailable items were our essentials and we did not like any substitutes they had in stock at that moment. So again Weronika tried her best in here offering available options, which did not satisfied us enough after all this hassle we made to place this order. Upon no request from our side, she made a few trips trying to catch busy Iain. He showed up and after some time he sorted the order with another Ikea store from the distance, which we are very thankful for. Iain and the rest of the staff did not give up easily. They showed great patience, professionalism and reliability. They did not let us to leave their store unhappy. They did their best to satisfied us-the clients. It worked. We are very pleased with their kind and effective service as well as thankful for those people's patience and empathy.
These days even medical service isn't as effective as IKEA store in Aberdeen.
Well done! Gold team, Iain- the right man on the right place! Thank you very much! We love our new living area. P.S Merry Christmas and happy...
Read moreWent to store to order PAX wardrobes. Had already put them together using the online planner and had created a shopping list. Sarah put the order together for us on the computer. She was helpful, checked all the details and took the time to show her new colleagues how it is done. Very friendly service - no complaints at all. You know someone is a good retail person when they can spot a lost looking customer and wrap up the sale.
If you like looking at the displays in the big IKEA stores then the Aberdeen store will be of interest to you. Plenty to look at! No different to going to any other large furniture store in the area. You wouldn't expect to come home with the sofa or kitchen in the car. A week for delivery sounds just fine.
Only things that would make it better - more market place products. It'd be great to be able to buy glasses, table ware, candles etc. Maybe give up a little space from some displays and have a few rows of stock....or open your market place in what appears to be an empty unit next door. I'm sure people in Aberdeen would lap it up. Couple more options for cakes at the cafe would be good...but I'm nit picking now.
Welcome addition to retail market in Aberdeen - hope it stays and...
Read moreVery disappointing! You can't order online direct to the store, you have to go into the store and order from there, to then wait however long for your order to come in to the store and collect it. there's also a £7.50 delivery charge....for delivery to the store...which i thankfully managed to avoid due to a deal that allowed me free delivery if I signed up for an "ikea family" card, but even so this is ridiculous. After placing my order, a small BILLY bookcase, I was told that my delivery would only take a couple of days and they would let me know when I could come and collect it. However, it has now been 2 weeks, and I had heard nothing, so I called up IKEA today, to then wait half an hour on hold on a central call centre; I was THEN told "oh, your bookcase is in store, it's available for collection right now." So after all this trouble, they had then forgotten to contact me and tell me that my order is in store. I was so excited when they announced an Aberdeen store; this is beyond disappointing. A missed opportunity, as there is plenty of space for at least a small warehouse! I hope these terrible reviews let IKEA know that this is...
