Tonight I was at Burger King. Near IKEA Aberdeen. On the way home, my family asked me to bring some large menu burgers (5 large ones, to be precise). I asked if I could have the 5 Diet Cokes in bottles because I had to drive and had nowhere to put the glasses. The very young, disrespectful, arrogant kid simply said it was against policy and the bottles were for delivery only. I told him I didn't need them because they would spill in the car. He turned his back on me after giving me a contemptuous smile. After a few seconds, he slammed the 5 empty glasses on the counter, saying with a smirk on his face, "Here are your drinks, not caring at all about my situation." I replied, "You keep them. I said I don't need them, I repeat, either I drive or I keep the glasses." His response? "No problem, it's your money anyway!" I asked to speak to the manager and the kid said, "Sam the man wants to talk to you!" Always smiling, with contempt, looking at me as if I were begging for money. I asked the young manager to help me out and give me the bottles (plastic, of course) because otherwise the drinks would all be scattered all over the car. His response, lacking empathy and no consideration for the customer, was that he couldn't do so. Needless to say, they didn't even refund my money for the drinks. Only a careless with lack of minimum common sense for costumer service manager and staff, could have such disrespectful manners. It should be noted that nowhere, at least not in this store, is there any warning about bottled drinks. In fact, other stores have always helped me with this. Moral of the story: This Burger King will never see me again, and with as the gravy on the top, the buns and fries were thrown like dirty laundry in the washing machine. Thank you for ruining a family's Saturday night....
Read moreYou know that whole "is Pepsi okay?" joke?
As in no one ever wants a Pepsi, they want a coke. I have the same feeling about BK, it's not terrible but it's not quite as good.
But.... It's the last fast food place heading south out of Aberdeen.
This particular establishment is slightly shabby; had no hint of smiles from the staff; had luke warm chips; had the omnipresent flooded bathroom (with ever-present warning sign). I'm not a fan of the self service drinks dispenser and I consider myself relatively tech savvy, I can imagine my dad being demented by it.
On the plus side, it was totally dead inside so all the tables were clean and we had our pick of them. We chose a window seat with a view of the dual carriageway and the electricity substation. The burgers and chicken were hot and flavoursome.
Go here if: You are hungry, this place has carbohydrates and protein in handy sized portions that will fill that hole for a moderate price. You want to grow tomatoes in the vestibule, damn it was hot. You want to lower expectations before visiting Ikea.
Don't go here if: You are heading north, there are better options. You are easily confused by self service machines. You are on a date, there will...
Read moreThis is just what you would expect from your standard "Out Of Town" Burger King Restaurant. Which means there is ALSO a "Drive Thru" here TOO!! The Restaurant ITSELF has PLENTY of Table Seating spaces & ALSO has several "High Chairs" available for use of any customers visiting with little children. AND, for customers of ALL AGES there are PLENTY of Toilets. The "Drive Through" SEEMS to have the SAME Opening Hours as the MAIN Restaurant itself-which I THINK closes @11pm?? BUT.....this is SUCH a disappointment!! Cos I've stopped there LATER at night on SEVERAL occasions, but on SOME of those visits the Restaurant was CLOSED-which unfortunately MEANT that the "Drive Thru" has been...
