Roman Park Hall — Local services in Berryfields

I had an engagement party here and the hall and its facilities are great but it was the hottest day of the year and there was no AC it was hot and boiling. The staff were not friendly and whilst my family were setting up the tables the worker was being rude and made it difficult for them to set the tables up in peace and made my family very upset, they left feeling belittled and had no nice words to say about that woman. We were told clean up would be done by the hall but we had to clean everything up ourselves at the end of the day and then we were told we couldn’t use the bins outside and had to take black bags of rubbish with us. I was also initially told the cost would be £500 but I was invoiced £700 which I paid without complaining. I also said we don’t need the bar on multiple occasions as we are Muslim and do not drink alcohol but I kept having phone calls, emails and text messages from different people asking if I needed the bar despite me saying no everytime. I was even told that I said in an email I would need it when I did not and explicitly stated in the email that we would not need the bar! I’m not sure if the main hall has AC or not but we were not allowed to use it and for guests over 100 on the hottest day of the year it would have been nice to have some sort of AC!

I do think the hall is nice and well built but I’m not sure about the staff there. Angela is friendly but was not there the day we had our event and I wonder if things would have gone more smoothly if...

We used Roman Park Hall for our Islamic Wedding Ceremony (Nikkah) and our Henna Ceremony (Mehndi).

Roman Park Hall itself is spacious, theres plenty of room for a stage, seating, and dancing, as well setting up a Dessert Table and a DJ Deck - without feeling overcrowded. Roman Park Hall also has a connecting Kitchen which is an excellent size and has all the essentials and is perfect to use by caterers for both food service and buffet style.

The outdoor area is a well-kept space that gave guests a chance to enjoy the fresh air and let the kids run around safely. It was especially nice to have that extra space to relax between food service and the dances. The surrounding area is also perfect for professional family and couple photo shoots.

The facilities are clean and well maintained and everything we needed was available on-site.

The booking process was easy, Lisa handled both of my bookings, she was absolutely amazing in her clear communication, she was well organised and so helpful throughout the process, and I cannot thank her enough.

Hired this hall for a surprise birthday 30th party for my partner, what a night it was absolutely fantastic, great atmosphere and I’ve never been here before and couldn’t visit until the day of hire and was amazed on how big the hall was, set up was done by jack and family members, we wanted to have the bar in the purchase and I can not thank jack the bartender enough for the hospitality he was amazing and so friendly, extremely helpful as-well throughout the night, everyone was grateful to jack such an incredible person, thank you to Lisa for all the support and kindness she’s given me over the few months when hiring this hall so kind and supportive, we had an amazing time and made sure it was how we got the hall and left it clean and tidy.
