This place use to be ok but now, this place is not to be encouraged. I had the worst experience when it comes to 'fish & chips'. I thought the days of serving customers chips that were made at lunchtime and serving them in the evening was over! Not here! I phoned 5 mins before I got there & ordered a large fresh cod as they didn't have haddock. To my disappointment, the large fish was no bigger than a mini fish. I asked if that was a large cod. "Yes" was the reply! Arriving home, I tried to improve my experience by adding mayonnaise, salt and pepper. Nothing but the bin improved it. The 'fish and chips ' hurt even my removed wisdom teeth! I'm sorry to write such a damming review, as normally, I say nothing and never return but this had to be said. I had to add a new word for awful to the thesaurus, Maypole Fryer. Disgusting attitude by the staff. Sent my 12 year daughter to the chippy as I don't enjoy the one across the road to me. I asked her to get a beef and onion pie for my friend (which she didn't get she got a chicken and mushroom pie) I ask for a fresh mini cod to be made and all my daughter was to wait on the side no explanation. After fourteen minutes she got served final. ( she did say by a nice man this time). She also asked for a bag even though she know she may have to pay 5p for it. She was told no. Fish came back really oily and the batter peeled straight of with the paper.

They really need to get some staff who are nicer to there customers. Im glad I wasn't there as that lady would have...

Ordered 4 items, yet the server couldn’t remember anything and had to go the receipt before getting any item. Chips, tikka burger, pie and curry sauce.

The chips were made up first, and put on top of the server, then the curry sauce followed by the burger. Finally she went and felt every pie with her hands! To see if any were warm enough, which they weren’t so into the microwave it went.

Finally, after 10 minutes when the other 3 items were done, chips were taken off the server and put in the bag.

Got home and had to throw the chips because they were stone cold!! Pie was bearable, tikka and curry sauce were ok.

When will this chippy learn to do the chips last.
