Beautiful, peaceful day out with the family. Had a fab time walking by the canal. So many different types of barges and boats. Great for cycling, walking dog, horse riding, good for prams but be careful as the path isn't very wide so you will have to move to the side for cyclists. Views a breathtaking. A lovely canal walk from Marple towards Macclesfield and great to see a canal busy with boats, too. The only letdown was how muddy and potholed the towpath was in places. Most of it is perfect, but the more remote parts of the path don't seem to have been maintained for years. This was more than made up for, though, by the peaceful atmosphere and the stunning scenery. A beautiful canal that starts at Marple Bridge leading through High Lane, Poynton, Adlington, Bollington to Macclesfield. Great stop off points and lovely scenic spots. Further up the canal , Bosley is another scenic point. The Cloud is a fantastic walking spot, to get high up and see a spectacular view!
