I have come here many times in the past and not had too many complaints as staff were quite friendly. However, they advertise at £8.95 for a 4 course meal and it turns out it was £9.95. The poppadoms and mixed starter was fine although lamb had a sweaty off smell so didn't touch it. When we got the main dishes we all were really disappointed. The Korma and butter chicken were bland, flavourless and we both thought they had a taste like toothpaste/mouthwash had been added to the curries. The garlic nan bread had literally no garlic flavour and the quality of the meat was very poor. Usually I am not one to write reviews but everytime we go there is issues with settling the bill and this time it ended up costing us nearly £25 a head after them advertising about the special offer. I just want to let other people know that this place is not somewhere to go if you want to be satisfied or get value for money. Namaste, Lazeez and the Viceroy all have much better food and it has never been so expensive at those places even if we ordered loads of extra things. I hope the Kitchen staff will get better as it may have just been an off night but I won't be coming again, both for the price discrepancy and the quality of the food. Also, the owner is very insistent that you write him a 5 star review for his restaurant when you go there so I wouldn't trust every review that you...
Read moreStaying in a nearby hotel, we found this place on the high street. Looked clean and bright(recent refurb?). Not a smiley member of staff to be found. All the meat was odd- chicken hard, dry and thermo-nuclear- it was like it had been heated in a microwave. On taking a mouthful of curry the sauce was only warm but chicken burnt my mouth- bizarre. Lamb was tasteless and like chewing leather. I estimate half a small chicken breast per serving- in no way generous. I had my usual witch is a medium dish. What was served was bland- absolutely no taste! My husbands is usually quite hot- I can’t eat it- but I was able to try it and it had only slightly more flavour than mine. Ate it as very hungry having been travelling since 5 am but would not go back and begrudged the near £50 bill. Buy a jar of sauce and cooked chicken from the Tesco Extra below them and have a much better,...
Read moreMy wife and I found this place after staying at a local country hotel, we had travelled from Hampshire and really wanted a decent Indian meal..
Atmosphere - lighting & music ambient. Clean environment to eat. Staff seemed very happy to please. However....Wife ordered Lamb Dhanzak which should she always orders as its a favourite. It was unlike any she tasted before, this was basically a Korma with pineapple added and few lentils and tasted bland, usually a medium hot sweet n sour taste with tomato base. My Pathia which had a 3 chilli rating had cubed lamb and a sauce tasted very much like ketchup and the flavours were very much lacking. I dislike posting neg feedback but we were also asked to post very positive feedback by the owner. The chef needs to get a grip on...
