Dragon Hut Chinese Restaurant — Local services in Bromsgrove

If I could give this establishment less than one star I would one million times over. The husband was a nice person to speak too understanding and sympathetic but the dragon lady was an appalling representative and shouldn't be aloud near the phone or customers.

Ordered the food at 19:00 ish and told that the food would be with us at roughly 20:30. As with any time you order you check your phone is on loud and telly on quieter to hear for calls/door bells. Come 20:45 still no sign. We ring the 'resteraunt' enquiring about the food. All we was met with was hostility with claims that the driver had been sat outside for half and hour then 20 minutes then 15 minutes then back to 20 minutes.

They claim they had rang us 5 times. Which they very well may have. But we tried to explain that no phone call had come through hence us ringing questioning where our food was. But we had no phone call come through. But it was all our fault apparently and due to this they would not return the food and not give us a refund when my partner rang up.

I rang up after the second time the Dragon lady hung up. And tried to explain that we have had no phone call. The attitude was 'well you can either come and get it or not have it with no refund.'

I then got passed to the husband who was much nicer and knows how to deal with customers. He said he will return the food and I gave him my mobile number to try and ring so we knew we had a connection. He explained that it would be 15 minutes. Absolutely fine.

Dragon lady then rings again saying that the food is freezing cold and if we would like the food we will have to pay again before blaming everything on us. As i began to protest she hangs up.

A very rude little lady with no premise on the ways to speak to customers.

I ordered a Chinese takeaway for my mum’s birthday this evening, I have been a frequent customer of this restaurant in the past, so I am saddened that this will be my last order, and that I need to leave this review. The food took about an hour and 45 minutes to get to us. Sadly, when it was delivered it was stone cold, and the hoisin sauce for our duck was missing - I’m sure people reading this review can appreciate that crispy duck is expensive, and the sauce is an integral element. I phoned up the restaurant to give them the opportunity to resolve my complaint, my only request was a partial refund for the disappointment, missing item, and overall quality. My first call went dropped, and my second call went unanswered. To the restaurant’s credit, they did phone me back. The manager (who did not come to the phone) was having a discussion with the call handler about how to “resolve” our situation. I was told that I could not have a partial refund because my order had already been paid for (this makes zero sense to me, as I ordered my food direct with the restaurant and not with a third party). I was instead told that I could have a 20% discount when I next order - this was not an acceptable resolution, as the disappointment here does not make me wish to return and spend more money. I again asked for a partial refund, and I did feel for the call handler as his manager was telling him no but leaving him to deliver the message. After ten minutes on the phone, I was told that I could drive the 4 miles to the restaurant to accept a cash partial refund, but again this is unacceptable as it should not be my responsibility. The phone call was clearly a waste of my time, and the situation and experience was only worsening by the lack of reasonable resolution. I recently ordered Chinese food from Dragon Hut and felt compelled to share my experience. Despite initial apprehension from reading mixed reviews, I decided to proceed with my order. I'm pleased to report that my worries were unfounded. The food arrived promptly and was piping hot, contrary to some reviews.
