Samsuns Takeaway — Local services in City of Edinburgh

If I could give 0 stars I would. We were staying in a hotel but fancied something different and came across this wee takeaway. Someone asked for a spoon for their kids ice cream and as the staff member got to the back of the shop she wiped her nose up her hand, got the spoon and handed it over, still didn't wash hands. 9 staff members behind the counter, 3 had masks on but only 1 was wearing it correct. Touching cash, the till, computer screens, serving different customers and not once did any staff member wash or sanitise their hands even touching food including the 1 who had wiped her nose up her hand. I was having a wrap and seen 1 guy actually pushing it flat with his hands 🤢 put me off, didn't hang about and certainly won't...

Surprised at some of the comments.

I use the one on Ferry Road and have found the food and service to be great. Staff always very polite, food served quickly and nice and fresh unlike another review said.

I've ordered online a few times too and had it delivered quickly and well packaged and pricewise it's very, very reasonable. Anyone who doesn't think so should try travelling outside of Edinburgh.

At the end of the day, it's not gourmet food and it's not trying to be. Pizza, chips, kebabs and all the usual takeaway stuff basically but well priced and rather tasty.

Oh, and one more thing - it's clean. I don't feel like I'm taking my life in my hands...

I've just had easily the best fish and chips I've ever had from Samsuns this evening. The fish was lovely and fresh, batter fluffy and perfectly complimented with a sprinkling of salt, little splash of vinegar and a good helping of broon. I'm sat here in awe at how insanely good the chips were, the absolute star of the show - incredibly outshining the fish! Crispy on the outside, not too greasy and cooked all the way through. Absolutely sublime. Well...
